Kang Rumored For Avengers 5

Kang Rumored For Avengers 5

I’ll believe this when I see it but Kang is still rumored to be sticking around the MCU and is said to be appearing in Avengers 5.

Recently, Jonathan Majors was fired by Marvel after having been found guilty of assault and harassment. Majors will no longer be playing Kang going forward in the MCU.

Along with Majors’ legal troubles, it has been claimed Kang Dynasty is getting canceled in favor of Avengers 5 which will be Part 1 of a two-part Avengers: Secret Warsgiant five-hour movie.”

So that sounds like Kang is done for in the MCU, and we can add his arc was basically wrapped up in both Quantumania and Loki Season 2.

What does the rumor say?

However, according to scooper Daniel RPK, Kang isn’t done just yet who also confirms an Avengers 5.

“The idea is to include Kang in some capacity in Avengers 5. The plan is to start shooting in 2024, now specifically late 2024,” said Daniel RPK. “They are searching for a director and one should be announced in the coming months. The first Avengers movie will have a more limited amount of Avengers.”

Who wants to play Kang?

So if the rumor is true, that means Avengers 5 will have a new actor in the role as Kang. That seems hard to believe as there is a ton of baggage that comes with playing the character that has that guilty verdict surrounding it. Already, John Boyega scoffed at playing Kang when asked by fans, and the Black community is not happy with the verdict.

We can speculate that if Kang is going to show up in Avengers 5 it will likely be a small appearance. With Kang likely out of the picture and Marvel moving away from Jonathan Majors and Kang as the MCU’s big villain, maybe in Avengers 5, they will use Kang to build up to the MCU’s real big villain.

Kang Dynasty / Avengers 5 is slated for a May 1, 2026 release; Avengers: Secret Wars is due out May 7, 2027.
