It’s claimed Avengers: Secret Wars will be assembling in a “giant five-hour” movie split into Part 1 and Part 2.
The info follows Jonathan Majors having been found guilty and having been fired by Marvel in which the actor will no longer be playing Kang moving forward in the MCU.
It has further been claimed that Marvel is canceling Avengers: The Kang Dynasty as the trades are now referring to the movie as “Avengers 5.” It’s been said Marvel is also moving away from Kang and won’t be using Kang as the big MCU villain in favor of a new character, possibly Doctor Doom.
Avengers: Secret Wars Part 1 and Part 2
The latest claims about Avengers: Secret Wars Part 1 and Part 2 again come from Jeff Sneider who first said Secret Wars was getting turned into a Part 1 and Part 2 and that Kang wouldn’t be the big MCU villain.
Well, with Jonathan Majors no longer playing Kang, Sneider looks to be right. Also, hopes by some fans that the role will be recast are in doubt as, already, actors are passing up on the potential to replace Majors in the MCU. There’s tons of baggage surrounding the role, especially with that guilty verdict. No one wants that.
Regarding what Sneider now says, in his own report about Jonathan Majors, an insider fills him in that Avengers: Secret Wars is “basically shaping up to be ‘a giant five-hour movie with a year-long intermission.'”
Presently, Kang Dynasty (Avengers 5) is slated for a May 1, 2026 release, with Secret Wars getting released a year later on May 7, 2027.
So according to the latest info, Avengers 5 will replace Kang Dynasty and be a direct lead into Secret Wars and both flicks will be around 2hrs 30 minutes each (Infinity War runtime is 2h 29m; Endgame runtime is 3hr 2m).
Multiverse Saga off to a rocky start
Additional rumors also offer Deadpool 3, Fantastic Four, and Spider-Man 4 will build the foundation leading to Avengers: Secret Wars.
Feige’s Multiverse Saga has been off to a rocky start as Phase 4 was a big bust theatrically and on Disney+ and so has the start of Phase 5. It’s known that Feige has hired new writers for all the projects so it seems he is attempting to right the ship.
Avengers: Secret Wars writer Michael Waldron is now writing “Kang Dynasty,” again, which seems to indicate Kang Dynasty is getting transitioned to a bigger Avengers 5 Secret Wars Part 1 movie.
