Joseph Gordon-Levitt as The Holiday Killer in The Dark Knight Rises?

We know that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in talks to have a role on Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises.

We’ve heard everything from the Joker to the Riddler – to even Robin or Nightwing.

Now, it’s being put out there that Joseph Gordon-Levitt just may be “The Holiday Killer” from the comic, The Long Halloween, which was written by Jeph Loeb with art by Tim Sale.

Put out there by who?

Well, Cinema Blend picked up on this from Comic Book Movie – who has now taken it down. Not sure why CBM has taken it down – did the studio ask?

In the comics, “The Holiday Killer” killed off various mob members for a period of a year, beginning on Halloween. Each crime took place on a holiday in the given month, and the killer would leave a holiday trinket  “calling-card” (hence, the name).

The identity of the killer was never discovered, with some theorizing more than one. The current theory is that Albert Falcone is responsible.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th 2012 and is directed by Christopher Nolan starring Christan Bale as Batman.
