The James Bond video game 007 First Light has added Lennie James to the cast as John Greenway.
James plays Greenway, described as a duty-bound professional who helps guide James Bond on his path to “Earn The Number.” The game follows a younger version of Bond before he becomes 007.
Patrick Gibson was previously confirmed as the actor playing James Bond in the game.
Lennie James joins 007 First Light
The official announcement (watch below) describes John Greenway as a major figure in Bond’s early MI6 story.
“John Greenway, played brilliantly by Lennie James, is a duty-bound and consummate professional who plays a pivotal role in guiding James Bond on his journey to Earn The Number,” the announcement says.
James is best known for roles in The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, Line of Duty, Blade Runner 2049, and Snatch.

The game does not adapt one of the movies. Instead, it tells a new origin story centered on Bond as a young, resourceful, and reckless MI6 recruit.
The story follows Bond through MI6’s training program as he works toward earning the 007 designation.

007 First Light comes to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on May 27, 2026.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version launches in summer 2026.
