Guardians of the Galaxy Movie Gets Djimon Hounsu as Korath The Pursuer: Ally To Thanos & Ronan

Amidst all the rumors surrounding the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, James Gunn was able to keep one secret, and it was finally revealed at Comic-Con when Djimon Hounsu was introduced as Korath The Pursuer.

In doing so it also came out that Djimon Hounsu’s Korath The Pursuer is an ally of both Thanos and Ronan.

Ronan is being played by Lee Pace, and now we know he is a villain in the movie as well.

In the Marvel Comics, Korath The Pursuer is a Kree cyber-scientist and head of the Pursuer project that created an energy template that he used on himself for a power upgrade.

During Annihilation Conquest, Korath was assimilated by the Phalanx, led by Lord Ultron, and was eventually killed by Ultron for failing to capture Adam Warlock.

Korath has battled The Avengers as well as Captain America, and his powers include an advanced alien battle-suit and armor.

Djimon Hounsu is 49 year old Beninese-born American actor and model who has been nominated for two Academy Awards. He is known for playing friend to Russell Crowe’s character in Gladiator, as well as Midnite in Constantine and also stars in the upcoming movie, Seventh Son.

The Guardians of the Galaxy movie has an August 1, 2014 release directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt as Peter Quill Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax The Destroyer and Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Benicio Del Toro as The Collector, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Lee Pace as Ronan, Djimon Hounsu as Korath the Pursuer, with John O.Reilly.

Also rumored for the movie are Ophelia Lovibond, Enzo Cilenti, and Glenn Close.
