As part of Disney’s layoffs that have rocked Marvel Studios, Andy Park is out after more than 16 years with the company.

Park confirmed the news himself in a public statement.

Andy Park confirms Marvel exit

Park posted that his run with Marvel Studios lasted from 2010 to 2026 and called it “the end of an era.”

He said he was there at the beginning of a unique team that helped Marvel Studios become a box office powerhouse, adding that he worked across more than 40 films and shows and led 15 of them as Director of Visual Development and Visual Development Supervisor.

Park also said he helped build the visual language of the MCU and praised the artists he worked with over the years.

End of an era for Marvel’s visual development team

Park wasn’t some random behind-the-scenes name. He was one of the key creative figures involved in shaping how the Marvel Cinematic Universe looked on screen.

That makes his exit a big one, especially as Disney continues making cuts across the company.

The layoffs have also already impacted Marvel Comics, as one of their top executives has been let go, along with four editors.

Andy Park looks ahead

While Park made clear the exit closes a major chapter, he also said he’s looking forward to a fresh start.

“As I wrap up my final months here, I’m looking forward to the creative freedom of a fresh start,” Park wrote, adding that he’s eager to bring his perspective and leadership to new challenges. He also said he’s looking forward to future conversations with both past and new collaborators.

Marvel Studios Visual Development: 2010–2026

It’s the end of an era. I was there at the beginning of a unique team that broke the mold of Hollywood and helped a studio gross over $30 billion.

I’ve been here for over 16 years, spanning over 40 films and shows, 15 of which I led as Director of Visual Development/Visual Development Supervisor. I got to lead, work with, and hire the best artists in the entertainment business. It has been the honor of a lifetime to be part of the team that helped create the visual language of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I couldn’t be prouder to have been part of the entire history of this department.

As I wrap up my final months here, I’m looking forward to the creative freedom of a fresh start. I’m eager to bring my perspective and leadership to new challenges. To those I’ve worked with before, and those I’ve yet to meet: I’m looking forward to the conversations ahead.
