Godzilla vs Kong Gets New Release Date

Godzilla vs Kong Gets New Release Date

Good news for fans of Godzilla and King Kong as the king of the monsters versus the giant gorilla will be released more than two months early.

Warner Bros. announces new release dates for three films including that Godzilla vs King Kong moves up nine weeks from a May 22, 2020 release date to March 13, 2020.

WB also announces the LeBron James Space Jam 2 has a July 16, 2021 release date, and that both of the aforementioned movies will be released in IMAX.

The third untitled Annabelle film also gets a new release date for this year of June 28, 2019, from a previous release date of the Fourth of July.

• Details for Godzilla vs Kong include that it will be directed by Adam Wingard and is said to star Millie Bobby Brown, Danai Gurira, Julian Dennison, Kyle Chandler, Ziyi Zhang and Van Marten, though the cast has yet to be officially announced. No specific plot details are known but the flick obviously pits the King of the Monsters vs the giant Ape from Skull Island, which more than likely ties into this year’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters that gets released in May.

• Details for the Lebron James Space Jam 2 include that it will be produced by Black Panther director Ryan Coogler. “LeBron James has one of the most powerful, well-known brands in the world and we are excited to be in business with him and his partner, Maverick Carter, and Spring Hill Entertainment,” WB CEO Kevin Tsujihara said in a statement three years ago when WB signed James. “The combination of LeBron’s global media presence and Warner Bros.’ unmatched production and distribution expertise is a big win for fans everywhere.”

• The third Annabelle film will mark the sixth movie in The Conjuring universe and is considered one of the most anticipated horror films of this year. Reportedly, the movie will follow what happens when the Annabelle doll comes into the artifact room at the Warren’s house.
