Check out a first look at Chuck Norris in the upcoming Agent Recon movie which I believe marks his return to the big screen after more than a 10-year absence.
The 83-year-old action star posted behind-the-scenes images on social media showing himself back in action.
“I’m back in action alongside Derek Ting and Marc Singer in ‘Agent Recon’, coming out next year. Here are some BTS photos of one of my fight scenes choreographed by my son, Dakota. I can’t wait for you all to see it. Stay tuned! God Bless, Chuck Norris,” he posted on Facebook on Monday.
First movie since The Expendables 2
According to IMDb, the last time Chuck Norris appeared in a movie was 2012’s The Expendables 2. Norris has made television appearances including The Goldbergs in 2015, and Hawaii Five-0 in 2020, and he also appeared on TNA iMPACT! Wrestling in 2020. Norris also voiced Sheriff Norris in the Crime Boss: Rockay City video game released this year.
So Agent Recon also looks to be the first live-action project for Chuck Norris in three years.
The flick also sees Norris team with Marc Singer who is known for the ’80s Beastmaster movies and the V TV series as well as Arrow, Beauty and the Beast, and AJ and the Queen. Singer also looks to have taken a three-year break from acting.
What is Agent Recon about?
Agent Recon also stars and is directed by Derek Ting who returns as Jim Yung from Agent Revelation released in 2021 (97% Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score) and the first movie, Agent Intelligence, released in 2017, so Agent Recon is the third movie of the trilogy (or more).
Agent Intelligence is described as:
A group of friends go to the desert for a gun instruction course and accidentally unleash a power so great it overwhelms them where they must choose between family and friends versus the fate of the world.
The description for Agent Revelation reveals that Ting’s Jim Yung gets superpowers:
An ancient dust that controls humans affects Jim Yung who gains superpowers. Jim is taken to an underground base where he’s trained to be an operative to take on an imminent alien threat and learn why aliens have returned to Earth.
According to the description for Agent Recon, Jim Yung is brought in to help track down a mysterious disturbance:
Alastair, the captain of a covert Earth security force, calls in super-powered rookie Jim to join a mission led by Colonel Green and his skilled Marines to track down a mysterious energy disturbance at a base in New Mexico.
Agent Recon gets released in 2024
Agent Recon is said to be getting released in 2024 also written by Ting.
Chuck Norris plays Alastair; Marc Singer plays Colonel Green; Sylvia Kwan plays Tanya, Jason Scott Jenkins plays Miller, Matthew Ryan Burnett is Aaron Klak, Nikki Leigh is Captain Lila Rupert; Teo Briones is Larry Higgins, Christopher Showerman is Dr. Penn / Alpha, and Yarett Harper is Harden.
Ting is also producing along with Joyce Yung. Executive producers include Grady Craig, Larry Greenberg, Matthew Helderman (Clerks III), Judah Klatzker, Berry Meyerowitz, Jeff Sackman (America Psycho, The Art of the Steal), and Luke Taylor (Halloween II, Redemption Day, Cosmic Sin, Dual).
