Ryan Reynolds offers up how Hugh Jackman is a beast and how he convinced the actor to return as Wolverine for Deadpool 3 and also jokes about their training for the roles.
Reynolds spoke with ET Canada and said, “I’m trying. Hugh Jackman is a beast. He’s clearly obsessed with his own body. So keeping up with someone who is that diligent is going to be challenging.”
Reynolds then shared they’re both excited about the movie.
“It’s been fun,” he told ET Canada in the video below. “He and I are both really excited. We’ve wanted to do this for a decade. So, to have this opportunity now is, I think actually weirdly, the perfect time.”
Reynolds continued with mention of what convinced Hugh Jackman to return to the X-Men role.
“I mean, I never stopped. I was just pestering him like a gnat over the last many years. I actually just think… I believe in timing … and I think he was ready,” said Reynolds.
Reynolds added, “I think he was excited and what we pitched him was enough of a divergence from the character that he knows and the character that he’s left behind, that it gives him something completely new to play and something that he’s really excited to do.”
Hugh Jackman also saw the video and replied, “More like petrified. Have you seen you?”

What is Deadpool 3 about?
The untitled Deadpool 3 gets released on November 8, 2024, directed by Shawn Levy and also stars Morena Baccarin back as Vanessa, Stefan Kapicic back as Colossus, with Karan Soni back as the cab driver sidekick, Dopinder, Leslie Uggams returns as Blind Al, with Emma Corrin as the film’s villain, with Succession actor Matthew Macfadyen also possibly as a villain.
The plot for Deadpool 3 hasn’t been released but it’s rumored to follow Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine throughout the Fox Marvel Multiverse.
