Reactions Online
Following the interview going viral, we asked Grok to summarize the reactions on X.
No surprise, a majority of the fans are against the idea of Bella Ramsey playing Spider-Man.

Negative Reactions (~60–65%)
Fans argue Spider-Man is “inherently male,” mocking the idea with phrases like “Spider-They” and urging Ramsey (who identifies as non-binary and uses pronouns) to stay away from Marvel.
- One post called it “backwards logic” and “stupid.”
- Others warned it would “destroy” Marvel or said they should cast Spider-Gwen instead.
- A Fan even started a #SaveSpiderMan campaign noting, “Because Bella Ramsey shouldn’t be Spider-Man, it’s “MAN”. Bella is a “GIRL.”
Bella Ramsey play as Spider-Man? That seems backwards logic. If Bella Ramsey wants to play Spider-Man, then I must be The King of England.

We all do respect Bella, stay away from Marvel, Spider-THEY is a stupid movie title to be honest.
Ok let’s talk about the elephant in the room resources say that Bella Ramsey wants to play Spider-Man. Personally I think that would destroy marvels reputation as it is Spider-Man for a reason. Supportive Reactions (~20–25%)
Supporters point to Ramsey’s acting ability and the Spider-Verse theme that “anyone can wear the mask.” Some frame it as fun or empowering, especially given Ramsey’s non-binary identity.
- One fan wrote, “Do it. Make Bella Ramsey the next Spider-Man. It would be the funniest movie ever.”
- Others suggested Ramsey could appear as a multiverse variant.
- Defenders reminded critics the comment was clearly made in jest.

Neutral, Humorous, and Meme Reactions (~15–20%)
Another chunk of posts leaned on humor or clarification.
- Memes imagined the chaos if Ramsey was announced as Spider-Man: “Can you imagine the internet the next day?”
- Others debated semantics like “Spider-People” vs. “Spider-Man.”
- Several posts corrected critics by pointing out Ramsey is non-binary, not “a girl.”

¿Os imagináis internet al día siguiente? 🤣#Marvel #MCU pic.twitter.com/tH3mXwXqTo
You’re assuming I’m triggered because you can’t understand the point. Bella Ramsey says she can be the next Spider-Man. People say she can’t because you have to be a man to be Spider-Man. My point was she could be spider non-binary. Reach- ‘they’re actually spider people’.😂😂😂

Will Bella Ramsey play Spider-Man?
It’s doubtful Bella Ramsey will play Spider-Man.
Actually, I believe in the Sony Marvel contract, at least Peter Parker, has to be a white dude.
Ramsey also added in the interview that Tom Holland is doing a great job, so maybe Marvel can create a new character for her.
Rumors have said Bella Ramsey could be up for the MCU’s X-Men reboot, with Rogue mentioned. Any recommendations? Hit us up in the comments below.
