Avengers: Doomsday footage description

The footage includes:

  • Thor going up against Doctor Doom and reuniting with Steve.
  • Thor says, “It’s not possible,” just before Steve reaches for Mjolnir, and the hammer leaves Thor’s hand and flies to him.
  • Professor X is also shown witnessing an incursion.
  • Another moment features Mystique shapeshifting into Yelena.
  • The footage also includes a big Shang-Chi vs. Gambit fight sequence.
  • Doom stops Stormbreaker with his fingers.
  • Robert Downey Jr’s Doctor Doom says: “Before this day is done, we shall be faced with an unthinkable decision.”

Full trailer description:

Xavier’s school sign is shown lying on the ground as a voiceover warns, “Something’s coming, something we may not be able to deter…”

Professor X then looks out his window and sees flames falling from the sky, clearly shaken by what he’s witnessing. Doctor Doom appears to be the one narrating, complete with a slight accent, and he is later shown rising in another setting with his hood and mask on.

The footage also reveals the new Avengers tower, now featuring an updated “A” logo and a redesigned look with three spires. Inside the building, the Fantastic Four come face to face with Bucky, Ant-Man, Captain America, and others.

Thor’s voice carries much of the trailer as he talks about the losses his people have suffered and how this threat is more frightening than anything he has faced before. He says, “I have fought with many warriors in my time. They were far stronger than any of us combined, and they died. They died facing enemies and threats that scared me far less than this one. Everything that we sacrificed will be for nothing if we do not stand together. If you return, you will return as brothers and sisters, but mark my words… we’re going to need a miracle.”

Cyclops appears in a new shot, while Gambit and Shang-Chi are shown fighting in a sequence that looks both explosive and fluid, almost like a dance. Another moment shows the Fantastic Four meeting Wakandans in a desert landscape where the water has been forced back, forming massive walls around them.

Yelena is then seen walking past a worried Reed Richards before what looks like a fight between two Yelenas breaks out, with one later revealed to be Mystique in disguise.

As Thor’s speech continues, he hurls Stormbreaker at Doctor Doom, but Doom casually stops it with one hand.

Thor closes with the warning, “We’re going to need a miracle.”

Then comes the big reveal. A voice off screen aboard the Fantastic Four’s ship says, “Hey pal.” It turns out to be Steve Rogers, now sporting longer hair and a beard, leaving Thor stunned.

Steve then raises his hand, pulls the hammer from Thor, and catches it with a grin.
