Batman-actor Ben Affleck takes to social media to address his battle with alcohol addiction and latest admittance into rehab.
Back at the end of August saw Ben Affleck admitted back into rehab following having been photographed by the paparazzi receiving a delivery of beer and liquor, which then saw his estranged wife Jennifer Garner decide to intervene.
“This week I completed a forty day stay at a treatment for alcohol addiction and remain in outpatient care,” Affleck posted on social media. “The support I received from my colleagues, family and fans means more to me than I can say. It’s given me strength and support to speak about my illness with other.”
Ben Affleck continued: “Battling any addiction is a lifelong and difficult struggle. Because of that, one is never really in or out of treatment. It is a full-time commitment. I am fighting for myself and my family. So many people have reached out on social media and spoken about their own journeys with addiction. To those people, I want to say thank you. Your strength is inspiring and is supporting me in ways I didn’t think was possible. It helps to know I am not alone. As I’ve had to remind myself, if you have a problem, getting help is a sign of courage, not weakness or failure.
“With acceptance and and humility, I continue to avail myself with the help of so many people and I am grateful to those who were there for me. I hope down the road I can offer and example of others who are struggling,” the actor said.
As Ben Affleck notes, he does remain in outpatient care, with the latest images of the actor actually showing him to be in pretty great shape, which has led fans to speculate he might be returning to the Batman role.
In addition, a tease for Batman was seemingly posted to Instagram when Ben Affleck posted for a photo with a celebrity marketing firm.
