Batman’s story gets the LEGO treatment again

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is being described as a narrative-led action-adventure from TT Games, the studio behind LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

The game follows Bruce Wayne’s rise into becoming Batman, starting with his early training under the League of Shadows before he takes on the role of Gotham City’s protector. From there, players will build Batman’s circle of allies, including Jim Gordon, Catwoman, Robin, Nightwing, and Batgirl.

On the villain side, the game is pulling from Batman’s biggest enemies, with The Joker, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Bane, and more all set to appear.

Open-world Gotham and new combat

TT Games is also promising a bigger gameplay experience centered on combat, stealth, and detective work.

Players will explore an open-world Gotham City across the streets and rooftops while using Batman’s gadgets and vehicles to stop crime. The game will include Batmobiles and Batcycles, including the Tumbler, along with familiar Gotham locations such as Arkham Asylum, Ace Chemicals, and Wayne Tower.

According to the official description, the new combat system will feature fluid combos mixed with stealth and detective skills, which sounds like TT Games is aiming for a more action-focused Batman experience while still keeping the usual LEGO style intact.

A different kind of LEGO Batman game

What stands out most is that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight looks like it is leaning harder into Batman’s full arc, from Bruce Wayne’s early years to his life as Gotham’s protector.

That could make this more than just another LEGO adaptation. The mix of an origin story, open-world Gotham, recognizable villains, and the usual LEGO charm gives it a shot at being one of TT Games’ more ambitious DC titles.

With the release now set for May 22, 2026, Batman fans won’t have to wait quite as long.
