Ben Affleck Teased Back As Batman

Ben Affleck Back As Batman Teased

While there have been lots of rumors flying around, now it just might be that Ben Affleck will actually return as Batman.

A celebrity marketing firm posted an image of Ben Affleck on Instagram noting, “We had a fun afternoon with #academyaward winner #BenAffleck! 2019 will be an exciting year!”

The post happens to include various hashtags related to Ben Affleck’s acting career including “Batman” and “Dark Knight.”

While the post isn’t confirmation that Ben Affleck will be back as Batman, the looks on their faces almost seems like it will be so, and in addition, the Matt Reeves The Batman films in 2019.

There has been question if Ben Affleck will be returning to the Batman role for a number of reasons, which includes the less than well received Batman vs. Superman and Justice League films. There is also the fact that Ben Affleck dropped out of directing the solo flick, with Matt Reeves coming on board to take over the movie.

Affleck has even said he wasn’t happy with his Batman solo script; however, it has since become known that doesn’t appear to be the case as the script has actually been described as the best Batman screenplay ever.

What is seemingly teased as return of Affleck to the DCEU also follows Matt Reeves seemingly teasing his script for the movie is completed as well.

Ben Affleck did recently admit himself into rehab, as he has been battling an alcohol addiction, but it did recently become known that a part of his rehab is being allowed out to go train at his house, so we see at least Affleck is keeping up with appearances for assumed to be upcoming Hollywood acting roles, which just might include Batman.

Regarding the Matt Reeves movie, not much is known, and it is rumored to feature a younger actor and start filming in the Spring, but Reeves did recently say the story will be original.

“Obviously we’re not doing an origin tale or anything like that,” Reeves confirmed. “We’re doing a story that is definitively Batman though and trying to tell a story that’s emotional and yet is really about him being the world’s greatest detective and all the things that for me, since I was a kid, made me love Batman.”

Matt Reeves also hinted that it’s a noir-driven story and not a continuation of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy.

“I’ve talked about making it a very point of view noir-driven definitive Batman story in which he is investigating a particular case and that takes us out into the world of Gotham,” Reeves said. “I went on a deep dive again revisiting all my favorite comics. Those all inform by osmosis. There’s no continuation of the Nolan films. It’s very much trying to find a way to do this as something that for me is going to be definitively Batman and new and cool.”
