Joe Manganiello Agrees Ben Affleck Batman Script Was The Best

Joe Manganiello Says Ben Affleck Batman Script Was The Best

Yesterday saw DC animated movie director and Zack Snyder storyboard artist Jay Oliva take to Twitter to reveal that the Ben Affleck The Batman movie script was actually the best ever, and now Joe Manganiello backs up the claim.

“The original Affleck script was the best Batman script I’ve ever read. Ben had a kick ass story and I believe that the audience and fans would have loved it,” Jay Oliva tweeted yesterday.

The movie was going to feature the Legion of Doom sending Deathstroke to Gotham City to hunt down the Batman, with Slade Wilson played by Joe Manganiello who debuted in the Justice League post-credit scene.

Now Joe Manganiello takes to Twitter to back up Jay Oliva’s claims as he responded with a “heavy check mark.”

Regarding whether or not Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke is a part of the Matt Reeves Batman movie is unknown, but WB has announced a solo flick for the character, which is said to be still happening.

“I say, ‘It’s in the works,’ because it is, and there’s nothing further that I can say without speaking out of school,” Joe Manganiello said in a recent interview in July. “Because I’m part of a team, I’m a part of a locker room — you don’t talk outside the locker room. But all I can say is, for the hardcore fans, it’s in the works. They want the character to happen, it’s just when he happens. Everybody’s commiited to [getting it done the right way.]”

While Ben Affleck has said he wasn’t happy with The Batman script, that now doesn’t appear to be the case, and it is unknown why the actor wanted out of directing and possibly the role.

“There was a lot happening that is above you and my paycheck,” Jay Oliva responded on Twitter. “I wish it was as easy as just making it. It had some of the best Batman/ Deathstroke stuff I’d ever done!”
