Zack Snyder isn’t done just quite yet and has posted yet another new image of Ben Affleck as Batman, continuing his steady stream of DCEU-era photos that have dominated his Instagram feed for the past several weeks.
Snyder shared the black-and-white portrait while thanking fans for bringing him to 300,000 followers, noting that he has no plans to slow down. He wrote, “Thank you for 300,000 followers. It’s been a fun six weeks on here, and I’m just getting started. Shot this on my Leica Monochrom with a 50mm—more to come.”
The image shows Affleck in full costume from that first-look image released years ago in 2014, captured with Snyder’s signature Leica setup, consistent with the visual tone fans associate with his version of Gotham.
Snyder’s Justice League Posts Continue to Build Momentum
Snyder’s new Batman photo extends a pattern that began about a month ago, when he suddenly started releasing previously unseen images of his Justice League cast.
His feed has recently featured Henry Cavill as Superman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Jared Leto’s Joker, and multiple new angles of Ben Affleck’s Batman. Each post has landed at moments when discussion about the future of Warner Bros. Discovery and DC’s leadership has been unusually active, prompting speculation that Snyder may be making a deliberate statement.
Fans have pointed out that Snyder’s posts are becoming more frequent and more focused on the core characters of his DCEU. The timing has fueled theories that he may be signaling interest in revisiting the franchise, or at least reminding the industry that his work remains in demand.

The Flash Originally Teased a SnyderVerse Revival
As we previously exclusively reported, the original ending of The Flash was designed to restore Ben Affleck’s Batman and point directly toward a revival of Snyder’s DCEU under Mike De Luca. That version of the film also would have re-established Henry Cavill’s Superman and positioned Affleck for future appearances. The ending was ultimately changed after James Gunn took over DC Studios, replacing Affleck with a George Clooney cameo instead and eliminating the setup that would have brought Snyder’s continuity back.
With Warner Bros. Discovery now in the middle of a sale process and multiple buyers exploring bids, the abandoned ending has resurfaced in conversations among fans who believe that Snyder’s recent engagement may not be coincidental.

Is Snyder Hinting at a Return?
Snyder has publicly said he would only return to DC for a project like The Dark Knight Returns, but the door has never been fully closed. Behind the scenes, we were told that “EVERYONE” had moved on from the SnyderVerse, yet Snyder has now spent over a month reminding fans of his cast, his visuals, and the tone that defined his era.
His message that he is “just getting started” has added more energy to the speculation, especially as uncertainty continues around James Gunn’s DCU and as potential new owners reposition themselves for a creative overhaul. If the studio’s direction shifts toward something closer to Snyder’s original vision, the possibility of seeing him return in some capacity no longer feels hypothetical.
