Zack Snyder has once again sent DC fans into a frenzy, this time posting a striking black-and-white photo of Ben Affleck as Batman.
Snyder shared the image on Instagram, writing: “One of my favorite Batman photos. I took it with my Leica Monochrom. We built that little set especially for these portraits.”
The photo shows Affleck’s Batman in the Knightmare costume, seated in a dimly lit set, captured with Snyder’s signature cinematic tone.
Snyder’s Leica Series Continues
This is Snyder’s third DC-themed Leica Monochrom photo in recent weeks, following his earlier shots of Henry Cavill as Superman and Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke.
Each post has reignited conversation about the SnyderVerse, with fans interpreting the images as hints of a creative resurgence — or a farewell tour — as talks grow about Warner Bros. Discovery being sold.
Our recent video of Snyder’s Superman post has been viewed now over 200,000 times on Facebook, showing that fans are still deeply connected to Snyder’s DC vision.

Ben Affleck’s Batman Legacy
Affleck’s Batman remains one of the most popular iterations among fans, known for his grizzled, battle-hardened portrayal in Batman v Superman and Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
This new image highlights exactly why Snyder’s version still resonates — grounded, intimidating, and mythic.
It also follows Joe Manganiello’s recent #SellWBtoNetflix retweet and the viral post from Netflix France teasing Black Adam vs. Superman, keeping speculation alive that Netflix could become DC’s next home.
Our insiders also filled us in that Affleck was supposed to return as part of a Batman Multiverse in the real end of The Flash.

Snyder’s Ongoing DC Teases
Snyder’s Leica posts have felt intentional – a reminder of the aesthetic and emotional tone that defined his DC films – that comes right when WBD is being sold.
We’ve also been told that James Gunn will be out as head of DC Studios with the WBD sale, and that Snyder would only return for one project: The Dark Knight Returns.
If that happens, it’s possible Snyder could bring back both Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill to portray older, iconic versions of Batman and Superman, fitting for a final DC chapter under new ownership.
