WWE Faces Backlash Over Liv Morgan Death Tease on Raw

WWE Faces Backlash Over Liv Morgan Death Tease on Raw

WWE caused confusion and outrage on Monday’s episode of Raw after teasing that Liv Morgan had died, when in reality, the wrestler is recovering from an injury.

What Happened on WWE Raw?

During Raw, WWE aired a segment featuring a memorial-like setup that included candles, plants, and a framed photo of Liv Morgan. The display gave the appearance of a tribute, typically used in wrestling to acknowledge the death of a performer. However, Liv Morgan is alive and well, as she’s been rehabbing an injury and is currently off television.

The tease left many fans shocked and confused, unsure if it was meant as a joke or part of an ongoing storyline. Critics called out WWE for going too far, accusing the company of being insensitive.

WWE’s Controversial Tweet

After the segment aired, WWE’s official X account (formerly Twitter) posted the image of the tribute setup featuring Morgan’s photo.

Instead of clarifying the situation, the post fueled the backlash. Fans slammed WWE in the comments, calling the angle disrespectful and tone-deaf, especially considering Morgan’s injury is real.

One fan replied, “Diogo Jota died less than a week ago and you yanks think this is funny? to treat death like a joke? I expect WWE to make a full apology fir there ill taste to the Jota family and donate the proceeds of tonight’s Raw to his family. Disgusting WWE absolutely disgusting.”

Another fan commented, “Pretty odd to do with all the celebrities we have lost recently.”

Numerous fans are also asking @grok if Liv Morgan really died.

What’s the Real Story with Liv Morgan?

Liv Morgan hasn’t died. She is rehabbing an injury that she suffered on June 16, which has kept her off WWE programming. WWE’s official page for Morgan remains active with no mention of retirement or worse.

Morgan is expected to return once she’s fully healed. Until then, it seems WWE is using her absence for storyline drama, but many fans clearly aren’t finding it funny.
