In addition to Batman Vs. Superman and the newly announced Justice League movie, it’s become known that Warner Bros. has nine additional DC comic book movies in development and also further confirmation there will be no shared movie and TV universe.

The Wall Street Journal released information about the DC movies in two separate articles.

Yesterday that saw news about the Justice League movie also made mention of four other movies not associated with the Justice League:  Shazam, Metal Men, 100 Bullets, and Fables.

Now in an article published today, it’s stated: “It also has nine other movies based on DC comics in development.”

We know one of the movies, which is Sandman from David Goyer and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and actually it became known yesterday that Wonder Woman is not one of them.

Even though Gal Gadot, the new Wonder Woman, signed a three-picture deal, it was stated yesterday that Warner Bros. does not have a Wonder Woman movie in development, at least not yet.

So with Batman Vs. Superman, Justice League, Shazam, Metal Men, 100 Bullets, Fables and Sandman in development, which brings the number to seven, what could be the other four?

It’s possible two could be standalone Batman and Superman movies with another possibility being for The Flash, which has been rumored for quite some time.

The fourth could also be the DC Comics Vertigo Sleepers movie that Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are producing.

We can also speculate that Dwayne Johnson might be involved in the Shazam movie. He is a fan-favorite choice to play Black Adam, a villain to Shazam (Captain Marvel). A couple of months ago, Johnson let it be known he is in talks for a DC role.

And regarding a DC shared TV/Movie universe, it’s also reported that DC is going in a different direction than Marvel as President of DC Entertainment Diane Nelson “encouraged Warner producers to develop diverse and even contradictory takes” on characters. An example given is that Batman in Batman Vs Superman is to be played by Ben Affleck, which will be different from the one in the Fox Gotham TV series and in direct-to-DVD animated movies and videogames as well as the Batman that appeared in The Lego Movie.

It’s also reported that for DC Comics, digital publishing has become a priority.
