Vin Diesel To Play Bloodshot

Vin Diesel To Play Bloodshot

It’s announced thatĀ Vin Diesel will be playing Bloodshot in the upcoming movie from Valiant Entertainment and Sony.

Last month saw Valiant announce a slew of movie and TV projects.

Deadline reports Sony is fast tracking the Vin Diesel Bloodshot movie, which has Dave Wilson on board to direct; Wilson is aĀ longtime collaborator ofĀ DeadpoolĀ and the upcomingĀ TerminatorĀ 6 movieĀ helmer Tim Miller.

The Bloodshot movie script is also being written by Oscar-nominated Arrivalscribe Eric Heisserer.

It’s reported the tone of the Bloodshot movie will be similar toĀ classic 1980s moviesĀ likeĀ Robocop, TerminatorĀ andĀ Total Recall.Ā

Filming on Bloodshot kicks off in July.

The Bloodshot movie also has Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, Kingsman) on board as an executive producer. Vin Diesel is also reunited with hisĀ Fast and the FuriousĀ producer Neal H. Moritz, who is producing along with Toby Jaffe and Dinesh Shamdasani. Dan Mintz is also serving as an executive producer, and Andrea Giannetti will oversee for Sony.

Valiant’s announcement last month also mentioned projects for X-O Manowar, Shadowman and more.

Bloodshot is described as:

Bloodshot is a central character in the Valiant Expanded Universe, composed of thousands of characters embodying various genres, tones and demographic groups — ordinary people in extraordinary situations rather than gods and demi-gods.

The Bloodshot series,Ā comprised of more 110 issues with more than 7.5 million copies sold, centers on Ray Garrison, aka Bloodshot. Brought back from the dead by Rising Spirit Technologies through the use of nanotechnology and suffering total memory loss, Ray struggles to reconnect with who he was while learning what sort of weapon he has become, with the help of a group of other augmented combatants (called Chainsaw).
