Comic-Con: Arrow Season 4 Casts Neal McDonough As Damien Darhk

Arrow has cast its Season 4 villain with Neal McDonough playing Damien Darhk.

As teased last season on Arrow, Oliver Queen and his team of allies will have a new adversary to deal with—Damien Darhk. Described as a mysterious and sophisticated villain, and an adversary of the late Ra’s Al Ghul, Damien Darhk is now the leader of his own clandestine group, suggesting that this cunning foe will prove to be one of the Arrow’s greatest challenges.

Neal McDonough is known for Band Of Brothers, Justified, Captain America, Minority Report and voiced Deadshot in the animated movie Batman: Assault on Arkham.

Watch: Three Minority Report Teasers

Fox has released three new teasers for their upcoming new series Minority Report, which premiers Monday, September 21st.

Minority Report follows the unlikely partnership between a man haunted by the future and a cop haunted by her past, as they race to stop the worst crimes of the year 2065 before they happen.

Synopsis:

Based on the international blockbuster film by executive producer Steven Spielberg and the first of his films to be adapted for television, MINORITY report follows the unlikely partnership between a man haunted by the future and a cop haunted by her past, as they race to stop the worst crimes of the year 2065 before they happen.

Set in Washington, D.C., it is 10 years after the demise of Precrime, a law enforcement agency tasked with identifying and eliminating criminals…before their crimes were committed. To carry out this brand of justice, the agency used three precogs – “precognitives” Dash, Arthur and Agatha – who were able to see the future. Now, in 2065, crime-solving is different, and justice leans more on sophisticated and trusted technology than on the instincts of the precogs.

Precog DASH (Stark Sands, “Inside Llewyn Davis”) – driven by his terrifying, but fragmented visions – now has returned in secret to help a brash, but shrewd, police detective, LARA vega (Meagan Good, “Think Like A Man” franchise, “Californication”), attempt to stop the murders that he predicts.

Watch: Damien Comic-Con Trailer

Watch the trailer above for the new A&E series Damien for Comic-Con.

Damien is an hour-long drama consisting of ten episodes premiering in 2016 from The Walking Dead‘s Glenn Mazzara.

A&E also took an interesting approach to promoting the series at Comic-Con as every year street preachers flock to the SDCC, so A&E went a similar but opposite route espousing the virtue of Damien.

“Damien” follows the adult life of Damien Thorn, the mysterious child from the 1976 motion picture who has grown up seemingly unaware of the satanic forces around him. Barbara Hershey stars as Ann Rutledge, the world’s most powerful woman who has been tasked with making sure Damien fulfills his destiny. SyFy Launches App For The Expanse

Syfy has announced the launch of a virtual reality app for The Expanse, the network’s highly-anticipated drama series from Alcon TV premiering in December 2015. Utilizing Google Cardboard, the app immerses viewers into the vast world of The Expanse, giving them the opportunity to enter into settings from the show and experience them in virtual reality.

“The Expanse VR” app – available for iOS and Android devices – takes users on a 360-degree tour of the spaceship Canterbury (the massive ice freighter introduced in the first episode of The Expanse). Additional virtual reality content will be added to the app in the months leading up to the series’ premiere in December.

To kick things off, Syfy is offering 13,000 free Cardboard viewers to attendees at San Diego Comic-Con, available at The Expanse Café (Mary Jane’s Café in the Hard Rock Hotel, 207 5th Ave). All weekend, fans can stop by the café to learn more about the series, demo and download the app and assemble their own Google Cardboard. In addition to experiencing The Expanse in virtual reality, Comic-Con attendees can also attend a screening of the series’ first episode and a Q&A with the cast and producers (Saturday, July 11 at 4PM, Indigo Ballroom, Bayfront Hilton).

Conceived from a partnership between Syfy and NBCUniversal Media Labs, the app was developed by IM360 in collaboration with artists at Digital Domain. The team worked in close conjunction with the visual effects department on The Expanse, maintaining the experience’s authenticity by working off of materials used to build the Canterbury on the show.

“At Syfy, we’re constantly looking for innovative ways to let fans experience and interact with our content, so virtual reality has been on our radar for a while,” said Matthew Chiavelli, SVP, Syfy Digital. “The Expanse, with its incredibly detailed, vast world, offers many environments for us to mine and bring to life, and made for the perfect project to launch in this space. Premiering on Syfy this December, The Expanse is a 10-episode space drama set 200 years in the future, after mankind has colonized the solar system. A hardened detective (Thomas Jane) and a rogue ship’s captain (Steven Strait) come together for what starts as the case of a missing young woman and evolves into a race across the solar system to expose the greatest conspiracy in human history. The series is based on the popular New York Times bestselling book series collectively known as The Expanse, written by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck (under the pen name James S. A. Corey).

Cameron Monaghan Returns For Gotham Season 2

Cameron Monaghan returns for Season 2 of Gotham playing Jerome in what possibly may be the Joker role.

Now set pics of Monaghan have hit the net which also include a bloodied Ben McKenzie.

Cameron Monaghan also posted an image of himself on Instragram teasing what looks to be the “Joker” going to jail.

Gotham will be featured at this week’s Comic-Con and returns to Fox in the fall.

Supergirl will be featured at Comic-Con as part of the WB TV Panels.

Supergirl premiers Monday, October 26th on CBS starring Melissa Benoist.

Possible Peek at Flash Season 2 Costume From Comic-Con

Check out an image from the floor of Comic-Con revealing what may be a peek at the new Flash costume for Season 2.

Apparently somone snapped a pic of The Flash display where we can see the brighter colored red suit with a white symbol.

Jay Garrick’s helmet is also featured, which may mean the character will be appearing in Season 2 as well.

Another possibility is that The Flash suit in this display is just the costume from the future Flash — seen when Barry went back in time and watched his mother’s death.

We’ll probably learn more at the WB TV panel on Saturday.

Elektra Confirmed For Daredevil Season 2

Marvel has found its Elektra for Daredevil Season 2.

Marvel.com announced Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, District 13: Ultimatum) has joined the cast, which also includes Jon Berthal as The Punisher.

Yung will play Elektra, a mysterious woman from Matt Murdock’s past whose dangerous and exotic ways may be more than he can handle. The first season of “Marvel’s Daredevil” made reference to Elektra, but now Yung will portray one of Daredevil’s fan-favorite characters.

“After a worldwide search,  we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity,” said Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for.”

Daredevil Season 2 is due out in 2016 on Netlix.

Fox has announced a new initiative to watch every episode of X-Files – one a day – leading up the premiere of the new series on January 24, 2016.

201 days of X-Files kicks off today, so watch the premiere episode on Netflix or DVD.

Thirteen years after the original series run, the next mind-bending chapter of THE X-FILES will be a thrilling, six-episode event series helmed by creator/executive producer Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson re-inhabiting their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. Dark Horse Comics Getting Adapted For TV

Good news for fans of Dark Horse Comics as the company has signed a deal with Universal Cable Productions to get their comics adapted into TV series.

SDCC 2015: UNIVERSAL CABLE PRODUCTIONS AND COMIC BOOK GIANT DARK HORSE ENTERTAINMENT SIGN FIRST-LOOK DEAL

UNIVERSAL CITY, CA – July 7, 2015 – Universal Cable Productions (UCP) continues to expand its powerhouse producing talent and build upon the studio’s genre footprint by signing a first-look deal with legendary comic book publisher, Dark Horse Entertainment (“The Mask,” “Hellboy”). The deal announced today will focus on developing and producing scripted programming from their extensive comics library as well as new material. Discussions for the deal began at Comic Con in 2014 when Dark Horse introduced UCP executives to some of their top writers and artists. Over the last year, those conversations continued and have yielded multiple television projects with direct involvement from the comics creators.

“Dark Horse Entertainment has an incredible roster of fantastical, witty and mind bending stories,” said Dawn Olmstead, Executive Vice President of Development, Universal Cable Productions. “Their brand has conquered multiple media platforms and boasts iconic books that have attracted the highest level of writers. It’s going to be a wild and imaginative ride.”

UCP will collaborate with Dark Horse to bring their unique and fresh approach to the creative process. Together they will maximize Dark Horse’s network of talented comic creators and robust library of content to develop character driven concepts for television intended to resonate with their current fan base. Dark Horse President and founder Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg, SVP of Production, have enjoyed great success for the last two decades; no strangers to television, they also currently executive produce Syfy’s “Dark Matter”.

Projects currently in development:

Harrow County – Emmy has always known that the deep, dark woods surrounding her home crawled with ghosts, goblins, and the restless dead. On the eve of her 18th birthday, she learns that she is connected to these creatures and to the land itself in a way she never imagined, for she is the reincarnation of a powerful witch who was put to death on the very day Emmy was born. For this reason, the townsfolk mean to kill her too. In order to survive, Emmy must embrace the unusual powers at her command. This project is based on the brand new book written by Cullen Bunn (“The Damned,” “The Sixth Gun”) and illustrated by Tyler Crook (“Bad Blood”).

The Umbrella Academy – Nine years after parting ways, the estranged members of the Umbrella Academy, a dysfunctional family of superheroes with bizarre powers, must figure out how to work together to save the world. Created by Gerard Way (lead singer of “My Chemical Romance,” and writer of “The True Lies of the Fabulous Killjoys”) and Gabriel Ba (Daytripper); Bluegrass films is also attached to executive produce.

Back Up – In the near future, a new technology allows people to be backed up the same way we now back up our computers—but instead of protecting against drive failure, these backups protect against death. This project is based on a feature script by Tom Vaughn. Kenny Golde is set to write and executive produce, Brad Anderson (“Zoo”, “Almost Human”) is in negotiations to direct. Jim Wedaa is also attached to executive produce.

Concrete – After his subconscious is transplanted into a hulking stone body, Ronald Lithgow must come to terms with his new form and try to live a normal life. This Eisner award-winning title is the opus of comics legend Paul Chadwick.

Dark Horse joins UCP’s leading producer line-up, including: horror icon Wes Craven; creator and executive producer of UCP’s critically acclaimed “Mr. Robot”, Sam Esmail; Gale Anne Hurd’s Valhalla Entertainment, BenderSpink; and Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions.

UCP’s extensive library of genre, fantasy and science fiction projects in the works include: with Syfy “Childhood’s End,” the first-ever adaptation of Arthur C. Robert Kirkman Missing Comic-Con; Wants Deadpool Trailer Leaked

Robert Kirkman will not be attending this week’s Comic-Con in San Diego.

Following not being able to attend the recent Image Expo last week, Kirkman let it be known he also won’t be at the SDCC due to throat surgery.

“Unfortunately, after years and years of being healthier than my physique would indicate I had to have minor surgery on my throat,” Kirkman posted on Skybound.com. “Nothing serious, but in the aftermath of such a fun experience, it comes with a brief duration of time where I’m unable to speak so all that pink business inside me can heal. As luck would have it, that period of time overlaps with Comic-Con.”

Two panels for The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead are scheduled for this Friday at Comic-Con, and Kirkman was scheduled to attend Skybound panels as well.

Kirkman notes it will be his first time missing Comic-Con in ten years, but looks forward to next year and hopes to see the new Deadpool trailer in some  form.

“This is the first Comic-Con I’m missing in well over a decade. While I’m bummed that I can’t be there, there’s nothing keeping you from enjoying all the fun events… I plan on making my triumphant Comic-Con return next year, you’ve been warned. Until then I’ll just be catching up on work and eating a lot of ice cream. So go to a panel, buy an overpriced hotdog, and think of me when you’re buying Transformer toys. More Ash Vs. Evil Dead Images

Following a first look at Bruce Campell as Ash for the Starz Ash Vs. Evil Dead TV series, two more images have been released including Ash with his iconic chainsaw and shotgun.

“Sam’s original Delta is back,” says Campbell. “I’m talking the ‘73 Delta 88. The Classic is back! I’ve driven it. I did a William Shatner power-slide in that car. That’s the only spoiler I’m gonna give you: that Ash and that car — we can power-slide. I met William Shatner on the convention circuit, and I talked aboutT.J. Hooker. He talked to me about how he power-slides those cars in T.J. Hooker. So I took Shatner’s advice, and I used that advice to do a T.J. Hookercombo-platter — with the Classic — power-slide.”

 “There’s going to be a lot of the classic, over-the-top, in-your-face fullness, with a pretty trash-talking Ash,” says the star. “In a TV series, people gotta talk, so Ash will have more dialogue than he’s pretty much ever had. There’s a pretty high count of Ash’s classic one-liners. They’re back, and they’re strong, and they’re flourishing!”

Ash Vs Evil Dead premiers with ten episodes in the Fall also starring Ray Santiago and Dana Delorenzo, and the show will be featured Friday, July 10th at Comic-Con.

Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.

First Look At Daredevil Season 2 Set Images

Marvel has officially begun filming on Daredevil Season 2, and the first set images have hit the net.

Daredevil Season 2 will premiere on Netflix with 13 episodes starring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock. The season will also feature Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle aka The Punisher.

New Guardians of the Galaxy Animated Series Poster & Premiere Date Announced

Disney XD had debuted a new poster for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy animated series as well as announcing the premiere date and sneak peeks.

The firt episode will debut on Saturday, September 27th, but a sneak peek of the first episode will be released on September 5th at 9pm.

In addition, Disney has announced ten 10-minute character shorts:

• Aug. 1: Star Lord, Part 1 (8:58 pm) and Part 2 (10:28 pm)

• Aug. 8: Groot, Part 1 (8:58 pm) and Part 2 (9:58 pm)

• Aug. 15: Rocket Raccoon, Part 1 (8:58 pm) and Part 2 (9:58 pm)

•Aug. 22: Drax, Part 1 (8:58 pm) and Part 2 (9:58 pm)

Watch: Netflix A Series of Unfortunate Events Teaser Trailer

First announced back in November, Netflix is adapting the children’s books, A Series of Unfortunate Events, as an original series.

Now a teaser trailer has been released and can be watched above.

A movie was released back in 2004 starring Jim Carrey, which wasn’t that well received, but the good news is that series creator Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket) is more involved with the Netflix series.

“After years of providing top-quality entertainment on demand, Netflix is risking its reputation and its success by associating itself with my dismaying and upsetting books,” Handler stated in a previous press release.

Casting and a premiere date are yet to be announced.

Watch: Dragon Ball Super Episode 1 (English Subbed)

The new Dragon Ball Super TV series debuted in Japan earlier today and video of the first episode has been uploaded online with English subtitles.

If need be, click the “CC” button in the above video and choose “English.”

Dragon Ball Super is set a few years after the defeat of Majin Buu, when the Earth has become peaceful once again, and has been said to feature foes more powerful than both Frieza and Buu.

The latest Dragon Ball movie, “Resurrection F,” gets released in the U.S. this August.

Following the Heroes Reborn trailer from last week, a batch of character motion posters has been released.

Heroes Reborn will be featured at this week’s Comic-Con, and premiers on NBC September 24th.

Synopsis:

“A year ago, a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas, left the city decimated. Blamed for the tragic event, those with extraordinary abilities are in hiding or on the run from those with nefarious motives. Two such vigilantes include Luke (Zachary Levi, “Chuck”) and Joanne (Judith Shekoni, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2”), who are seeking to avenge a tragic loss.

Noah Bennet, aka H.R.G. (Jack Coleman, “Heroes”), has gone off the grid but conspiracy theorist Quentin Frady (Henry Zebrowski, “A to Z”) finds him and opens his eyes to the truth behind the Odessa tragedy. While in hiding, some are discovering their newfound skills. Awkward teen Tommy (Robbie Kay, “Once Upon a Time”) just wants to be normal and win the girl of his dreams, Emily (Gatlin Green, “Criminal Minds”), but normalcy is virtually impossible after learning of a new ability that terrifies him. Are you looking forward to Comic-Con?

Very much. Comic-Con is so legendary, so a great thrill to be invited along.

You told me last year that, as a child, you were always more intrigued than frightened by Doctor Who. But are you nervous at all about appearing in front of 7,000 people at the Doctor Who panel?

Very nervous. Don’t think I’ver ever stood in front of 7,000 people in my life. But if 7,000 people want to see us, it would be rude not to turn up.

If you were going to walk the Comic-Con floor disguised as a monster from Doctor Who, or as anything or anyone else, what or who would it be?

A white walker from Game of Thrones. Or, fromDoctor Who, a menoptra.

Could you tease the two-part premiere?

It places the Doctor in a conflict that is central to his being, as well as containning some subtle tributes to the ’60s, and truly wonderful guest performances.

What can you tell us about the exclusive photograph from the premiere (see above)?

The photo shows the Doctor about to make a mistake that has cataclysmic repercussions.

How is the Doctor different this season from last?

He’s throwing himself into life with a newfound hunger for adventure. He’s in pursuit of joy and grabbing every thrill that he can along the way. But I sense him running from something, that even he does not yet understand.

Tell us about the villains and monsters the Doctor will be encountering this season?

There is an epic sweep to this season and I think the villains and monsters reflect that. Great new ones, brilliant old ones, and some very scary creatures looming in stories with real emotional ambition.

And Missy?

In the hands of Michelle Gomez, Missy is more magnificently bad than ever before.

Maisie Williams is one of the new season’s guest stars. How was working with her?

Maisie is fantastic. A sharp, talented tornado. As an 18-year-old, she has taught me many new words and expressions. All I’ll say about her character is she shifts in cosmic ways.

How would you describe the relationship between your Doctor and Jenna Coleman’s Clara this season?

They’ve suddenly realized that they are the most fortunate people in all of time and space and are hellbent on adventure. Jenna continutes to deliver a beautifully nuanced, complex, and funny performance that marks her out as one of the best companions ever.
