HBO has released the Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon trailer and character posters announcing the series premiers on Saturday, Aug. 21.
“History does not remember blood. It remembers names,” teases the video description.
House of the Dragon is a prequel to the main Game of Thrones series and consists of 10 episodes.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, the series, set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, tells the story of House Targaryen.

Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen, chosen by the lords of Westeros to succeed the Old King, Jaehaerys Targaryen, at the Great Council at Harrenhal. Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, the daughter of Otto Hightower, the Hand of the King, and the most comely woman in the Seven Kingdoms. She was raised in the Red Keep, close to the king and his innermost circle; she possesses both a courtly grace and a keen political acumen.
