Thor: Ragnarok Plot Revealed (Spoilers)

Turn away now if you don’t want to know specifics about Thor: Ragnarok, because the following details offer insights into the movie’s plot!

The latest issue of Total Film magazine features an article about their Thor: Ragnarok set visit where the magazine spoke with producer Brad Winderbaum revealing specific plot details.

Thor: Ragnarok picks up two years after The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, with Thor on a quest to track down the remaining Infinity Stones, which has sent him across the nine realms leaving him “road-worn and hardened,” according to Brad Winderbaum.

It’s further said that Thor’s mission has been complicated by events on Asgard, where Loki’s clandestine coup has caused chaos in the absence of Anthony Hopkins’s Odin, leaving their home vulnerable to attack by Hela.

In the ensuing assault, Cate Blanchett’s destroyer of worlds strands the adoptive brothers on Sakaar, a remote planet “that marks a major change for the series.”

The article also reveals that the climatic battle of the movie involves Thor, Hulk, Loki and Valykrie on Asgard fighting Hela, with the scene involving 300 extras — civilians fleeing Asgard, “as gods and monsters brawl.” Taika Waititi describes the scenes as “the most exciting part of the film.”

“If we do our job right” teases Winderbaum, “we’ve got a giant, epic, Ragnarok-scaled finale that is one of the biggest climatic set-pieces we’ve done at the studio.”

It’s also explained the reason for Thor’s more comedic personality in the film as being a result of Thor having spent so much time on Earth with The Avengers.
