A new rumor claims Marvel Studios is developing a project titled Thor Quest, and it may be the next chapter in the Thor franchise.
As we previously told you, Thor 5 will be without Taika Waititi at the helm.
What does the rumor say?
The claim originates from industry scooper Daniel Richtman (DanielRPK), who has a mixed track record. According to what’s being shared across social media, Thor Quest is now in early development. There’s no official confirmation from Marvel Studios, no production timeline, and no attached director or cast list.
Worth a mention is the Vision series coming to Disney+ is said to be titled Vision Quest, so unless they’re related, why would they have the same title? The only answer that makes sense would be that it could be possible that Vision isn’t going to be titled Vision Quest.
A Potential Thor 5
Assuming Thor 5 does happen, this would make Chris Hemsworth the only MCU actor to headline five solo films. With Taika Waititi not returning, that likely signals a new creative direction, something Hemsworth himself has said, as he admitted things got too goofy with Love and Thunder.
Part of that new direction looks to be a new costume for Thor in Avengers: Doomsday.
Hemsworth Still Active in the MCU
Chris Hemsworth is confirmed to return as Thor in Avengers: Doomsday, which is currently in production in the UK under the Russo brothers. Along with Secret Wars, that appearance could help bridge his next solo outing or set up the direction for Thor Quest, assuming the rumor is accurate.
