Thor: Love and Thunder Script Getting Perfected Says Taika Waititi

One bonus of the coronavirus pandemic is that it is giving Taika Waititi a lot of time to work on the script for Thor: Love and Thunder.

The director spoke to Total Film about how he is keeping busy and taking his time writing the movie:

“…there are a few positive things I can take away [from the Covid-19 crisis]. One of them is that a lot of these films, and films in general, are rushed, or you don’t have as much time as you’d want to have on the script and things like that.

“We’re still writing Love And Thunder, and I think it’s good to just keep writing, and then you know, we’ll have a really, really good script. And with writing, especially, you should use as much of that time as possible to get your story right, because you never really get it later on. Film is an industry where you’re always complaining about not having enough time. I think, right now, we’ve given ourselves a huge amount of time to work on all sort of things, so we may as well use it.

Waititi also offered that he couldn’t reveal any details about the flick, but in a previous Q&A concept art was released.

“It’s so over-the-top now in the very best way. It makes Ragnarok seem like a really run-of-the-mill, really safe film,” said Waititi.

Thor bringing the love and thunder on Valentine’s Day

Some details known about Thor: Love and Thunder include that Natalie Portman will appear as Female Thor and Tessa Thompson will still be the king of Asgard who apparently is looking for her queen; Christian Bale also plays the villain of the movie, thought to be Darrio Agger, The Minotaur; Waititi also previously revealed the Silver Surfer will not be in the movie, and when asked about Beta Ray Bill said, “I’d love Beta Ray Bill, but I just don’t know right now, things are a bit up in the air.”

Chris Hemsworth is also super jacked for his return, and we probably won’t see Fat Thor.

Due to Sony pushing back the Spider-Man movies, Thor: Love and Thunder again has seen its release date changed to February 11, 2022.
