Vertical has released the official trailer and poster for The Astronaut, a psychological thriller arriving in theaters on October 17, 2025.
The Astronaut, directed by Jess Varley, premiered earlier this year at the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival and features a strong cast led by Kate Mara and Laurence Fishburne.

Plot
When astronaut Sam Walker (Kate Mara) crash lands back to Earth, sheâs found alive in a punctured capsule off the Atlantic coast. General William Harris (Laurence Fishburne) immediately places her in quarantine under strict NASA surveillance for rehabilitation and testing.
As she recovers, strange events begin to unfold. Sam starts to fear that something extraterrestrial has followed her home, raising questions about her survival and what may have returned with her.
