Then the whole fucking thing wraps up with the debut of the Suicide Squad trailer.”

Regarding Suicide Squad, Smith also offered:

“I think this is their Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s going to be a sneak fucking stealth hit.”

Is Zoom An Evil Barry Allen Flash? Grant Gustin Comments

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23855:]]

Similar to the first season, the second season of The Flash features an enigmatic villain whose true identity is yet to be revealed with Zoom.

There are a lot of theories out there, with some fans thinking Zoom might be the Earth-2 version of Barry Allen.

IGN caught up with Grant Gustin and directly asked if he is Zoom. Gustin doesn’t specifically state no – and of couse he isn’t going to reveal the answer – but here is Gustin’s response:

I don’t think it’s going to be Evil Barry. But I was pitching that idea really early on, like, “How fun would that be, it’d be so cool!” I just selfishly wanted to play the villain. I didn’t even know who it was until last night, actually. I hadn’t asked. I asked way more questions last year. Jesse [L. Martin] likes to know as little as possible and I’m kind of taking that route this yea, so I’m surprised when I see the scripts and surprised when I do it. I hadn’t asked who Zoom was. I didn’t want to know, but [Greg] Berlanti called me last night to catch up and talk about the episodes and that came up and he broke down that whole story for me and how it’s going to evolve and what’s going to happen. So I do know now. Obviously, I’m not going to tell you! [Laughs] There are so many twists and turns involved with it and so many characters’ arcs that are connected to it. I said it about Thawne last year. Even if you think you know, there’s going to be some part of it that no one is going to guess exactly what the reveal is.

Regarding my thoughts on the identity of Zoom, I’ll just say I think it’s a former speedster and leave it at that…

“The Flash” returns Tuesday, January 19th at 8pm ET on the CW  starring Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh and Jesse L. Martin.

“Some of these people are beyond different,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg says of the group coming face-to-face with their doppelgängers. The Flash boss points to Wells (Tom Cavanagh) as a prime example of differing personalities across universes. “[Wells] seems so different until you start seeing the crazy differences between all of our other cast members. Then he’s the one who doesn’t seem quite so different and crazy anymore.” Beyond Ronnie and Caitlin’s doppelgängers, Kreisberg teases, “There’s a couple of surprises that we’ve got in store that we’re really excited about.”

Gorilla Grodd Planned Long-Term For The Flash

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23744:]]

Last we saw of Grodd in The Flash he was off to Gorilla City, and while that’s the last we’ll see of the mind-controlling gorilla this Season, it’s learned more is to come.

The Flash Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg offered they are building up Grodd much like they did with the Arrow villain, Ra’s Al Ghul, which may mean Grodd as potential main bad guy in Season 3 or later down the road.

“I would liken the Gorilla City thing to Ra’s al Ghul. You know, you hear about “the man from nanda part” in [Arrow] Season 1, and “the man who showed Malcolm the way,” and then you met Nyssa, then in Season 3 you met Ra’s. So, it’s a long-term thing.”

Kevin Smith Directing An Episode Of The Flash

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23724:]]

Kevin Smith will be directing an episode of The Flash.

EW.com reports Smith will direct an episode of The Flash, which is due to air in May. The CW announced the news at the Television Critics Association’s press tour earlier today.

Kevin Smith, of course, is known to be a big comic book fan having written issues of Batman, Daredevil, and lots more. Smith also penned the defunct Superman Lives script and has his Comic Book Men series airing on AMC. Smith’s voice was recently featured in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and is regularly involved with promoting Batman Vs. Superman and Suicide Squad.

Update: Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg also offered the following about having Kevin Smith direct an episode (via Collider):

“I literally got a phone call from his agent saying that Kevin Smith’s favorite show is The Flash, and if was there an episode for him, and the answer was yes. It was really that simple. I didn’t know him personally, I’ve just been such a huge fan of his work.”

…But of course, there’s the whole publicity angle of it, as well:

“As responsible executive producers, we always have to look at that, but we would never look at that at the expense of our own show. Knowing what a fan he is, and knowing the scrutiny he’s going to be under, I know he’s going to bring it to his fullest, and I’m just so excited.”

“The Flash” returns Tuesday, January 19th on the CW at 8pm ET starring Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh and Jesse L. Martin.

New Batman Vs. Superman High-Res Images; Snyder, Affleck & Cavill Talk Justice League

Batman Vs. Superman Trailer #2

Check out a batch of high-res images for Batman Vs. Superman below as well as comments from Zack Snyder talking about the characters and Justice League, with Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill adding their thoughts on the DC movie universe.

We’ve also recently seen a look at the Jason Momoa Aquaman Halloween costume and two NFL Wild Card playoff spots have been released (here and here).

David Ayer and Ben Affleck also talk Batman in Suicide Squad, with new high-res pics released as well.

Zack Snyder on Justice League:

“I love Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman, but having Flash and Aquaman and Cyborg and to see them all standing together, it’s a pretty dorky and cool experience for me,” says Snyder, who’s introducing some of his new Leaguers in Dawn of Justice.”

“Basically every one of those characters has a logo that you would recognize without them standing there, and that’s a hard thing to achieve in this pop-culture world. We have history to draw on, but we also have these new frontiers to forge.”

Zack Snyder on Batman:

You can see the idea of the innocent being victimized by whatever they are, aliens, he doesn’t know — that’s the thing that really boils his blood, as you can imagine it would,” Snyder says. “Suddenly the innocent children of the world are all of us.”

His caped (and often armored) crusader is “a guy who had been through that experience already for many years and was kind of burnt out and asking himself what the point of it all was and going through an existential crisis.”

Zack Snyder on Wonder Woman:

“She’s a powerful female superhero, which is a thing we haven’t had for a while,” Snyder says. “She’s a piece of IP that basically exists in pop culture in a way where every kid’s got a Wonder Woman T-shirt and they don’t really know why. I want to give the why back to that.”

Henry Cavill on Superman:

“He can sure as hell take Batman out if he wants to, and Batman takes advantage of that,” Cavill says, comparing Superman’s constrained Clark Kent side to a dad playing football with a bunch of children.

“He’s not going to go all-out against the kids because he’ll end up smashing people around. It’s the idea of still wanting to have fun but no one gets hurt, so you’re being careful about where your knees and elbows are going. That’s what Clark is for me, but Superman is far more relaxed. Superman is dad just being dad at home.”

Henry Cavill on the Justice League movie universe:

“There’s a whole world of fantasy in comic books, and if you just focus on one small portion of it, you’re never going to get the full magic of it,” Cavill says. “Now that we’re introducing all these other characters and really building the universe to a far larger place than just a simple alien’s life on Earth, it really makes it extraordinarily interesting.”

Ben Affleck On Batman:

His caped (and often armored) crusader is “a guy who had been through that experience already for many years and was kind of burnt out and asking himself what the point of it all was and going through an existential crisis.”

“Batman is covered up by a suit and sometimes a car and sometimes a lot of vehicles and weapons, whereas Bruce Wayne is much more naked — it’s just you and a suit of clothes,” Affleck says.

“You can’t really play Batman because Batman is different things to different people. We project our own things onto the mythology of what Batman is, and he has to be able to be projected upon. With Bruce Wayne, you have to bring something distinct and new and different.”

Ben Affleck on the Justice League movie universe:

“I’ve been really impressed just as a working stiff to see how they’re doing it.”

Reverse Flash Returning For Season 2

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23692:]]

While we did see the Earth-2 version of Wells don the Reverse Flash costume in order to help trick Grodd, it’s learned that isn’t the last we have seen of the Yellow Speedster.

The CW released the episode description for the January 26th episode of The Flash, appropriately titled “The Reverse-Flash Returns,” where we see Matthew Metscher is back to play Eobard Thawne (Thawne is actually the true identity of the Reverse Flash as Thawne took over Well’s body in the past).

HE’S BACK… — When Cisco (Carlos Valdes) gets a vibe of Eobard Thawne (guest star Matthew Letscher), Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team don’t believe it. But, after an attack at Mercury Labs, Christina McGee (guest star Amanda Pays) confirms that the Reverse Flash is back. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) and Francine (guest star Vanessa A. Williams) share a nice moment that brings Iris closer to her brother, Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale).   Michael Allowitz directed the episode written by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing.

“The Flash” returns January 19th on the CW at 8pm ET starring Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh and Jesse L. Martin.

Possible Batman Vs. Superman Spoilers From Advanced Screening

Batman Vs. Superman Trailer #2

We may have potential Batman Vs. Superman spoilers as a Reddit user is claiming he/she attended a surprise advance screening in Los Angeles.

Obvious this could be BS, but spoiler warning is in effect.

Note: It’s not unheard of for studios to do advance screenings, which may or may not be a rough cut with some special effects missing. That’s how we got our Transformers: Age Of Extinction spoiler info.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23543:]]

Spoiler warning again, as a potential BIG CAMEO is revealed:

Hey DC_Cinematic, i’m using a throwaway account for obvious reasons, but I saw the movie last night! I use a website for advance screenings and I got tickets for a mystery film and it turned out to be BvS.

The movie was very long, as long as TFA if I were to make a comparison. It didn’t drag though; every minute of the film was used effectively.

Performances were all great. Jesse Eisenberg as Lex is way more complex than what the trailers show. By the end of the film, you will HATE him, but at the same time, you can’t help admire how capable this guy is.

Ben Affleck as Bruce/Batman is definitely the standout performance. I was surprised/scared how different he became when he put the mask on. This Batman will come across as a villain to some viewers; he enjoys inflicting pain on criminals. There was a scene where he was branding a criminal, and he had the biggest smile on his face. I don’t know how fans will react to that, but I felt it worked with this version of the character.

Everyone else was great too, even the new supporting characters played by Jena Malone and Scoot McNairy. Jena Malone plays a crippled Barbara Gordon. She doesn’t have much screentime, but she does make a Killing Joke reference about an amusement park incident involving her now retired father. Scoot is playing Jimmy Olsen who was injured during the events of Man of Steel. He does not blame Superman like the others, but supports him and views him as a hero. He has a popular blog about Superman.

The third act was mindblowing. The Doomsday reveal in the trailer is just the tip of the iceberg. There is a lot of action, and I loved every moment of it. The first and second acts are the “Batman v Superman” parts of the movie, while the third act is entirely “Dawn of Justice.” You will see a fully assembled Justice League by the end of the film.

All in all, BvS is the greatest comic book movie since The Dark Knight, and I can’t wait to see it again come March.

If anyone has questions, i’ll be glad to answer.

I forgot to talk about the whole LexOS subplot. I felt the movie would have been fine without it, because it doesn’t connect with Doomsday at all. It’s basically thrown into the plot so that there’s more things to fight at the end. LexCorp is basically developing a worldwide drone system to protect against alien invasion. There is fierce opposition to it, especially from General Swanwick. He believes that humans should always be in control of powerful weapons such as the drones. This leads to a pretty cool scene of Swanwick sending his best pilot to compete against a drone, Hal Jordan! (played by Dan Amboyer)

On Green Lantern:

Already GL, he reveals himself at the end during the drone fight.

Practical but with CGI enhancements. Classic GL look, white gloves and domino mask. Kinda muted green though.

GL costume wasn’t full CGI, but had CGI enhancements. White gloves and domino mask are all there.

Green Lantern with the white gloves and domino mask.

Dan Amboyer as Hal Jordan was funny. He was cocky and he had every right to be with all the cool stuff he did.

Fighting Doomsday:

They used a Kryptonite ray from Lex’s lab. It was cool because everywhere they hurt him, a new layer of spikes would form on top of it. Wonder Woman stabbed him in the chest, he pulls it out and then grows a chest guard.

Doomsday is a mutated General Zod.

Do they call it Doomsday?

Wonder Woman does.

Batman’s nightmares:

PTSD from what Bruce experienced during Metropolis incident.

It’s a recurring nightmare, it’s not one long continuous sequence. We get fragments throughout the film

Robin:

Dick Grayson is alive somewhere, and was a former Robin. Todd died at the hands of the Joker.

Flash and Aquaman:

They both help stop Lex’s drones in the third act

Cyborg:

He’s there too. He awakes from his coma and freaks out at the sight of his new robotic enhancements. He then escapes from the LexCorp lab and sees all the drone chaos.

BOOYEAH. Ray Fisher as Victor Stone is seen on TV in Lois and Clark’s apartment in the beginning of the film. He gets hurt during the Doomsday breakout because he was visiting his father Silas, a LexCorp scientist. He of course gets enhanced.

We see him scoring a touchdown and winning a championship. He is then interviewed, saying that he wished his dad was there to see him.

Batman vs Superma fights:

Two fights, two different victors.

Supes confronts Bats during a warehouse sequence. Bats tries to fight him off using the Batmobile, but it doesn’t work out. Supes tears open the doors and tells Batman that what he is doing is wrong. Superman realizes that Batman is Bruce Wayne and leaves. Second fight is of course the one with the Bat armor. Bats uses Kryptonite to weaken Supes and leaves him battered. He does a variation of the “man who beat you” speech.”

Joker:

Joker is teased a lot and according to Oracle, Dick is in undercover somewhere.

Lots of Joker references. Jason Todd beaten to death 5 years ago by the Joker. Bats nearly kills him and sends him to Arkham.

Callan Mulvey:

Head of security at LexCorp, doesn’t do much in the film besides getting the shit beaten out of him by Batman.

Batman:

This Batman would beat Captain America in a fight. He’s huge, but also extremely agile.

Batman does not have guns that fire bullets.

He is a master at stealth, there is a scene that showcases this.

Batman’s voice:

Yes, it’s less booming though in the regular suit compared to the armored suit.

Aquaman:

The toy is an accurate representation of Aquaman. GL looks like classic

Jason Momoa was scary as Aquaman. Out of all the JL members, he was the most fun to watch. Pure savagery.

Protecting some ships from the drones, before going inland to fight the rest of them.

He has blonde highlights.

Wonder Woman:

Sure. You don’t see it in the trailers, but Wonder Woman actually has a white cloak/robe. She takes it off prior to fighting Doomsday. She uses all of her weapons during the fight (lasso, shield, sword, gauntlets). She fights as technical as Batman, but with the power of Superman behind it. She’s not eager to fight, but she knows she has to and won’t stop until she is the victor.

Wonder Woman uses the Lasso of Truth for fighting, but not for it’s magical purposes. Probably saving it for solo WW film.

Gal Gadot keeps her accent as WW.

She’s seen throughout the film and is known as the Themiscyra ambassador. She is against LexOS and is trying to get people, such as Bruce, to join her cause. GG is a believable and beautiful Diana Prince, every line she says is always backed with a sense of sincerity and purity, but also carried with weight.

Batcave:

Batcave was bigger than I was expecting. He has a Batsuit display with old Batsuits. There was a Batsuit that kinda looked like Michael Keaton’s! Robin had his own room, complete with a staff display and motorcycle.

Superman:

Superman came to terms with what happened with Zod, but he does feel guilty about all the civilian lives lost.

The Flash:

Ezra was never out of costume, all Flash. He did not have blond hair from what I saw from his eyebrows. It’s either black or really dark brown.

You definitely see the Flash, he helps stop the drones at the end. His costume, from what I can infer, is made from the same material as Superman’s costume. He has armor plates on it, and parts of the suit glows yellow. It was really cool.

Lex going Bald:

Kryptonite poisoning

Jesse Eisenberg as Lex:

Multi-layered, reminds me of Heath’s Joker. He stole every scene he was in, and left you wanting more. I loved how much I hated him.

Lex mentions how ARGUS wants to collaborate with him on LexOS, but he doesn’t wanna deal with the “bureaucratic lady in charge of it.”

Lex sent some workers to look for Kryptonite at locations of the world engine. One of them was in the ocean.

Lex’s public persona is what we saw in the second trailer. Quirky and goofy. His actual persona is a man who is filled with blind hate and will use all the resources available to him to get what he wants. He believes he is the one who should be seen as the most powerful because he worked to get everything he has. Anyone who supports Superman is a traitor to mankind.

Michael Shannon:

What you see from the trailers is pretty much what you get. Lex has his body, experiments on it to make Doomsday.

No, he’s as dead as the Waynes.

Who sent the letter to the Waynes’?

Joker

Any mention of JL big bad?

No, they wanna keep it a surprise I guess. I was hoping for a Darkseid post-credits scene.

A Lex Scene/s:

Lex invites Senator Finch to his mansion. Finch is the most vocal against Superman, which is why Lex wants to work with her. They both don’t trust this alien that came out of nowhere and leveled a city. Lex goes on a monologue about how humans have survived and thrived for thousands of years without the help of a god.

This scene was interesting because it’s the first time Lex stops putting on the fake public persona and gets really serious and lays it out to the audience about why he does what he does.

Yeah, they both blame Superman. The Daily Planet all support Superman. Lois wrote a piece about how Superman saved the world.

Lex had Lois taken by Mercy Graves, which is why Supes wasn’t in a position to argue. Lots of Lois, she is investigating Lex. The boy was just a random LexCorp worker.

He created Doomsday because he was pushed to the limit by Superman. He wanted Batman to kill him, but when he didn’t, Lex felt like he had no other choice. This Lex is true to the comics in the way that he is extremely jealous of Superman and wants nothing else than to see him fall.

Bruce and Diana:

They’re both intrigued by one another, as if they know there is more than meets the eye.

Start of movie:

Yes. It starts out like any normal day in Metropolis, Bruce is having a board meeting. Then the the world engine turns on, chaos ensues, buildings start collapsing. 9/11 vibes during the whole sequence. I had goosebumps during the whole thing. It makes you sympathize with Bruce.

On end of movie:

No cliffhanger. Film ends with the JL members knowing about each other and agreeing to work together again if anything bad happens like this again, Batman was reluctant though. Lex goes to trial, but most likely won’t be found guilty, because he has people on the jury and people willing to be scapegoats.

It does have a lot of characters, but all of them play a specific role. Senator Finch, Jimmy Olsen, Lois, Perry, Swanwick, and etc. are all pieces of the puzzle if you will. Instead of crowding the film, they all play a role.

Most surprising moment, definitely the spectacle that is the third act with all the JL members.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has a March 25, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter as Senator Finch and Tao Okamoto as Mercy Graves. Justice League is to follow directed by Zack Snyder as well.

Synopsis:

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

Potential Justice League Details For Batman Vs. Superman

Batman Vs. Superman Trailer #2

As the movie is titled the “Dawn of Justice” we know members of the Justice League will be appearing in Batman Vs. Superman.

Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash and Ray Fisher as Cyborg are confirmed to appear.

Now possible details on their appearance come from Latino Review who state Wonder Woman’s appearance is basically a “glorified cameo,”; they repeat the rumor that The Flash will make a brief appearance as a blur; it’s said Lex Luthor will somehow introduce Jason Momoa’s Aquaman into the film; Ray Fisher as Cyborg is said to appear in the second half of Batman Vs. Superman, and it’s also said Green Lantern won’t show up until near the end of the first Justice League movie.

Watch: Justice League: Crisis Fan-Trailer

I see I am not the only one that has thought of a Justice League “Crisis” movie.

Wouldn’t it be something if following Batman vs. Superman, the two-part Justice League movie was actually a take on “Crisis On Infinite Earths” and featured Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, in addition to appearances by Christian Bale, Michael Keaton, Stephen Amell from Arrow, Grant Gustin from The Flash, Brandon Routh reprising as the Christopher Reeve Superman, Supergirl, Michael Rosenbaum as Lex, Jack Nicholson returning as the Joker, and more?

While that may not be on the table, check out a cool Justice League “Crisis” fan-trailer put out by UltraSargent on YouTube.

Robbie Amell To Return As Firestorm For DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23233:]]

It’s probably a safe bet to say that Robbie Amell will be back as Firestorm.

Amell was seemingly killed off in Season 2 of The Flash, probably because of his stint in the upcoming X-Files series, but now that filming on X-Files is over, it looks as if Amell will be back as Firestorm.

About two months ago saw Robbie Amell tease his return to the character, and now Victor Garber has seemingly confirmed Robbie Amell for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Victor Garber, who plays the other half of Firestorm, Dr. Stein, posted an image of himself with Amell on Instagram, including Robbie Amell and the DC’s Legends of Tomorrow account in on the post: “Reunited and it feels so good.”

Likewise, Robbie Amell posted the image on his own Instagram account with “Dinner with the ex” as well as an image of the Firestorm containment unit, adding: “Hello old friend.”

Check out the Instagram posts below.

DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow debuts January 21st. Presently replacing Robbie Amell as Firestorm is Franz Drameh as Jax Jackson.

New Batman Vs. Superman Details Include Flash, Aquaman & Luthor

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23138:]]

Some new details about Batman Vs. Superman are learned from the Comic-Con Experience out of Brazil as costume designer Michael Wilkinson talked about Batman, Superman, Flash, Aquaman and Lex Luthor.

Ezra Miller already confirmed Flash for the movie, but now a new detail is learned in that this version of The Flash won’t be as powerful as the other Justice League members.

“He will have a small appearance and will not be as strong as the other Justice League Heroes.”

Wilkinson also offered:

“I’m not really at the liberty to talk about The Flash right now, but it’s something that you’ll be seeing in the future in our films. You do get a glimpse of him, of course, in Batman v Superman. But I’m really looking forward to taking the amazing, iconic costume for The Flash and interpreting it in a fresh way where Ezra Miller is playing The Flash. He’s an extraordinary performer, he has a sort of interesting sense of humor and the youth that will be great for Barry Allen and I think he’s going to make a great Flash.”

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23139:]]

Wilkinson also teased that Jason Momoa’s Aquaman undergoes some sort of change in Batman Vs. Superman that sees him don two costumes.

“…have two uniforms in the movie. “He will start one way and will develop for a different look,” says Wilkinson.

Prior to the release of the latest Batman Vs. Superman trailer, WB revealed a scene which saw Superman as a bad guy unmasking Batman. Just as many fans online speculated, it’s a dream sequence as Wilkinson confirms it’s Batman’s nightmare. Note: The costume Batman is wearing in the scene has already been revealed to be “Nightmare Batman” as part of the action figure line, so this news shouldn’t come as all that much of a surprise.

… in Wayne’s dream, the world turned into a post-apocalyptic wasteland in the style of Mad Max, in which Superman became a despot and have an army of followers, composed of soldiers and by flying beings that appear in the trailer.

“It’s like a dream that Ben has, so we wanted to, it has almost a Mad Max quality to it where it’s like the end of the world, trying to survive and then of course Superman and his minions come, so it’s sort of a way of representing the amazing amounts of, the sort of obsessive quality that Bruce Wayne has about the threat of Superman.”

Wilkinson also confirms that Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor will be featured in other DC films, and that the look of Lex will change.

Wilkinson talked about Lex Luthor, revealing that the visual of the villain will evolve over the other films by DC.
