Samaritan, the rival AI, has initiated its lethal “correction.” Finch’s Machine is essentially dead. Shaw is still missing. And the team is once again hiding in plain sight. But with Samaritan’s invisible grip tightening everywhere, will Finch be able to rebuild and resurrect The Machine? And if he does, will it be the same Machine when it comes back online? WB Dates New Christopher Nolan Movie For Summer 2017

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21990:]]

Warner Bros. has announced a new untitled Christopher Nolan movie for a Summer 2017 release date.

WB will have full worldwide distribution rights for the untitled project, which has been given a July 21, 2017 release date.

Nolan’s previous project with WB was with Interstellar, but Paramount shared in the distribution rights.

No details are known about the new Christopher Nolan movie as the director’s projects are often shrouded in secrecy, but it’s probably safe to say it will be a large scale production on par with Interstellar and the Batman movies.

Regarding Nolan doing another DC movie, Wonder Woman actually comes out a month prior, so more than likely it won’t be another DC flick.

Marvel and Sony do have the new Spider-Man reboot coming out a week later, on July 28, 2017, so it will be an interesting showdown against Nolan.

Christopher Nolan’s latest project is the short film about the Quay brothers.

Watch: Tom Hardy Wants To Return As Bane & Drown Batman & Superman

Tom Hardy who played Bane for Christopher Nolan in The Dark Knight Rises and was up to play Rick Flag in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad is asked by MTV if he would like to return to the DC Universe.

Check out the above video for Hardy’s response, but he does state he would like to return to the DC Universe as Bane, and he also says he would like to hold Batman and Superman’s head under the water.

Regarding Tom Hardy’s future with the DC Universe, he is involved with the 100 Bullets Vertigo adaptation, but more than likely that will be set outside DC’s superhero universe.

Any ideas what roles could be good for Hardy? While not DC, after watching Hardy in Warrior, I kind of pictured him maybe as Wolverine.

Wes Bentley Wants To Play Batman
Movie News

Watch: Wes Bentley Wants To Play Batman

Prior to Ben Affleck getting cast as Batman for Batman Vs. Superman, we were told Christopher Nolan’s choice for the new Dark Knight was Wes Bentley.

At the time, Bentley was starring in Interstellar for Nolan.

Now while appearing on Larry King, Bentley makes it known he always wanted to play Batman.

“I did always want to play Batman,” Bentley told King, with King replying he would have made a great Batman. “I liked Batman, because he had no super powers.”

King again remarks Bentley would have been a good Bruce Wayne.

“I appreciate that,” the actor stated.

DC Comics In Trouble? Down 2 Million Dollars? Superman Back To Normal?

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21847:]]

I’ve long expected this since about four or five months into the New 52.

Bleeding Cool is reporting that DC Comics is down over 2 million dollars for their financial year beginninng in 2015.

Reasons cited include the cost from moving the offices from New York to Burbank were higher than expected as well as the poor performance from the less than stellar Convergence event series and tie-ins, in addition to the post-Convergence relaunch doing all that not great.

DC also offered their comics to be returnable, which has only added to the problem, as obviously the issues are not selling and retailers are returning them, which is a loss for DC.

According to the report, “a lot” is riding on Frank Miller’s Dark Knight III: The Master Race upcoming graphic novel.

It’s also said that DC senior executives have ordered the DC editors to go back to the “meat and potatoes.”

Bruce Wayne will be returning as Batman (it’s noted that was always the plan), but it’s also said Superman may be returning to normal (whatever that is) as look for Superman to “ditch the shirt and jeans a lot quicker than planned and to get back into the suit pronto.” It’s further said, regarding Superman, that DC has to downplay the recent identity revelations themes and not write the stories specifically about the change in identity status as they are now.

It’s argued that every book isn’t going to be a “surprise hit” the way Batgirl or Harley Quinn have turned out, or even Marvel’s Hawkeye. Trying to get every DC book that way isn’t working out, so it seems it’s back to basics.

Regarding my statements above about the New 52, the first few issues of just about all the series were actually quite good; however, it seemed (at least from my reading) as if the writers were given less freedom, with the stories subsequently suffering (blame who you wish).

My two cents (which admittedly might be all its worth), would be to follow what Marvel is pretty much doing: Whenever an issue starts falling below a certain number (popular titles around 50k; less popular around 30K), they relaunch – and they relaunch with multiple covers. As much as I hate the gimmicks and such, the variant coves for Marvel work and comic readers are eating them up. If I was DC, I probably would have ten or so variant covers for Snyder’s Batman and the same for Johns’ Justice League. Whenever a title drops around 20-30k, I would relaunch with another #1 (i.e vol. 2) with multiple covers and go that route.

I would also stick Johns on every DC event, and tie them into the popular characters’ comics (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash). I would also relaunch Superman with only one title and stick Chris Roberson on it. I would nix all the Green Lantern rainbow brite stuff and go with only two books, Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps (both series were awesome prior to New 52), with Abnett and Brad Walker on one title, and Marz and Lanning on another (Giffen would be in the cosmic mix somewhere, and Starlin).

Lastly, I would nix the notion of the DC movies influencing the DC comics as the comics are the inspiration for the movies and not the other way around (ditto at Marvel).

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes – Justice League: Attack of the Legion of Doom arrives Tuesday, August 25th as a Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and Digital HD from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

One of the secondary themes of LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes – Justice League: Attack of the Legion of Doom spotlights Cyborg trying to find his place within the team of older, more experienced super heroes. The clip above features Batman (voice of Troy Baker) giving advice to Cyborg (Khary Payton) on the mindset required to be a super hero — from a distinctly Batmanesque perspective.

Stephen Amell Says Batman in Arrow & A Movie Appearance Is Possible

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21812:]]

Prior to Stephen Amell’s debut in the squared circle later tonight for SummerSlam, the actor stopped by Wizard World Chicago.

Amell talked about a range of topics, which happened to include the Dark Knight potentially appearing in the Arrow universe as well as the possibility of Amell appearing in the DC Cinematic Universe.

Regarding Batman appearing on Arrow, Amell admitted it would be “tough,” but did state it’s possible.

“In the same way that [Ezra Miller’s] playing the Flash in the cinematic universe – theoretically, we haven’t seen him yet – I see no reason why we couldn’t have our own Bruce Wayne. That’s my opinion; that might not be DC’s opinion, and they’re the bosses.”

Amell has been a fan-favorite choice to play the Green Arrow in the DCCU as well, and the actor has not been silent about wanting to appear in the movie universe. Amell says it’s not like his contract forbids it, so technically it’s possible.

“Whenever I talk to people, it’s like, ‘this is an evolving process,'” Amell offered. “And there’s absolutely no contractual barriers and/or creative barriers between me and being in a movie, one of the DC movies.”

Speaking of Ezra Miller, Miller recently mentioned that his version of The Flash and the Grant Gustin Flash actually exist in parallel universes, which brings up speculation of some sort of Crisis event, in which the DC multiverses collide. There hasn’t been any hints or mention that may actually happen, but it always exists and would make for a pretty cool two part Justice League movie.

Amell also let it be known he has been filming Constantine scenes all week with Matt Ryan (via CBM).

“Arrow” Season 2 premiers Wednesday, October 7th.

Kevin Conroy Ruins 9-Year-Old Boy’s Batman Fun

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21778:]]

Per the norm, the liberal Hollywood web sites and blogs blew up yesterday when a nine-year-old boy asked Donald Trump if he’s Batman.

Trump responded to the youngster with an affirmative: “I am Batman.”

The video lasted all about seven seconds, but various sites rolled with it, taking the opportunity to take jabs at presidential hopeful Donald Trump (much like the Boston Herald tried and failed when interviewing Stan Lee).

Now the latest is in regards to – “I am vengeance. I am the night. I am Batman.”-  himself, Kevin Conroy.

Conroy, known for portraying the voice of Batman in the animated movies and series, actually took to Twitter to ruin the nine-year-old boy’s fun.

Conroy tweeted a pic of himself in front of a Batman: Arkham Knight video game display adding: “I hear a guy with a big mouth & bad hair running for president claims to be Batman. Let’s be clear he is NOT Batman!”

It should be noted the boy and his parents were on the fence in regards to voting for Donald Trump, so it’s not like they were Trump supporters. I’m guessing the boy, an obvious Batman fan, knew both Bruce Wayne and Donald Trump are wealthy and decided to have some fun.

Nice to spoil it, Kevin. Keep it classy.

Michael Wilkinson Talks New Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman & Aquaman Costumes

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21772:]]

Oscar-nominated costume designer Michael Wilkinson, noted for American Hustle, Tron and Zack Snyder’s Watchmen, Sucker Punch, 300 and Man of Steel, returns for Batman Vs. Superman and Justice League.

People’s Choice caught up with Wilkinson who is in Las Vegas for the MAGIC Panel at the Las Vegas Convention Center where the following was offered about the new Batman Vs. Superman costumes:

Updated Superman Costume:

We tweaked the Superman suit only slightly from our suit from Man of Steel. We streamlined plus sharpened the details of the costume a little to suit the more earthly (less alien) context of this film.

Zack had a great idea to have some kryptonian script [writing] subliminally included in the details of the suit, so we made that happen (update: you can check out details images of the scripts in Superman’s costume here)

Ben Affleck’s Batman Costume:

The batsuit is a complete 180 degree turn from the previous film incarnations — our Batman’s power comes from his incredible physical strength and fighting skills, not from armor. The director Zack Snyder wanted him to look as much like the comic book version as possible — to be respectful to the original source.

My favorite details of the batsuit are the brass knuckles on the gloves.

Gal Gadot Wonder Woman Costume:

As for the Wonder Woman suit, well she has never been seen in a film before, so there was nothing to compare it to! There is of course the costume from the TV show. Zack wanted our character to be a fierce and intimidating warrior — gritty, battle-scarred and immortal.

There is ancient Greek script [writing] on Wonder Woman’s weapons too.

Jason Momoa Aquaman Costume: (note: Wilkinson looks to have confirmed Momoa will be seen in the Aquaman costume in Batman Vs. Superman):

It was pretty hard to get Jason to get out of his Aquaman costume. It really became part of him.

Here are pics of the new costumes (click to enlarge):

Baltimore Batman Killed In Car Accident

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21740:]]

Lenny Robinson, age 51, known as the “Baltimore Batman,” died after being hit by a car Sunday night.

Robinson, who often dressed up as the Dark Knight to visit sick kids, was driving his custom “Batmobile” Lamborghini when it broke down on Interstate 70 in Maryland.

According to reports, Robinson was coming home from a car show when his Lamborghini experienced engine trouble. Robinson pulled over, but the car was said to be partially in the eastbound passing lane when his Lamborghini was struck by another car, which caused the Lamborghini to slam into Robinson, killing him.

Robinson was pronounced dead on the scene; the other driver was uninjured and no charges have been filed.

Lenny Robinson was first noticed as the “Baltimore Batman” when he was pulled over by police in 2012 for having no plates. The plates were actually inside the vehicle as Robinson used the Bat symbol on the car in their place.
