Ben Affleck’s Batman Gets Released In 2018

Ben Affleck recently confirmed his Batman movie films this Spring, and now it’s confirmed Batman will be released in 2018.

Deadline reports on a change in guard regarding WB’s President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production, Greg Silverman, who is stepping down to pursue other ventures. Silverman spoke about his departure mentioning how WB’s future is looking bright.

“Next year, Batman Lego looks like a monster, and King Kong looks like a global hit and we have Chris Nolan’s Dunkirk, and King Arthur, and Wonder Woman, which is such a joy for the studio and fans,” Silverman said. “Zack Snyder’s Justice League is a big film, and there are others like CHiPS, which feels like a real franchise for the studio. And Toby Emmerich’s films are also really humming.”

Greg Silverman continued with mention of WB’s 2018 slate, which is when Ben Affleck’s Batman will be released.

“Then in 2018, there is a second Fantastic Beasts film, and Ready Player One feels like an ambitious movie by the world’s best filmmaker, Steven Spielberg, that will set the world on fire. There is Aquaman with James Wan, and Scooby Doo will be a huge launch and then there is Lego Ninjago,” Silverman said. “And then there is Ben Affleck’s Batman. I believe the place I love is set to succeed in the long term here, and I can be a bit selfish and think, ‘How do I want to live my own life?’ Tech, China and investing are real passions for me that have emerged over the past few years. But if I didn’t know everything would be OK for everybody here, it would have been a lot harder to start my own thing.”

WB has yet to announce the official release date for Ben Affleck’s Batman movie, but Aquaman recently got pushed back to October 5, 2018, leaving the July 27, 2018 release date open. Both of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises saw success with July release dates, so it makes sense for Ben Affleck’s Batman to follow suit.

The 2018 release date for Batman will also star Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke and Jeremy Irons as Alfred.

Ben Affleck will next appear in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, out November 17, 2017.
