Stranger Things 5 Trailer Drops: Netflix Reveals Premiere Schedule and Plot Details

Stranger Things 5 is finally on the way, and Netflix just released a new teaser trailer that sets the stage for the series finale. The footage shows Hawkins in military lockdown, the Demogorgons back in action, and the core cast gearing up for their biggest fight yet.

What’s the Story?

Set in fall 1987, the final season picks up after the rift between Hawkins and the Upside Down has torn the town apart. Vecna is missing, and the group is focused on one goal: find and kill him. But the U.S. government has quarantined the town and is once again hunting Eleven, forcing her into hiding.

As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, things take a darker turn. According to Netflix’s synopsis, the final battle is approaching — and it’s the most dangerous yet. The full party will need to reunite to stop Vecna and close the book on the Upside Down once and for all.

What’s New About the Upside Down?

The new season will finally explain some of the lingering mysteries about the Upside Down. The Duffer Brothers wrote a 25-page document about the alternate dimension when they started the series. They’ve held back some details until now.

“We’ve punted a couple of those to have some big reveals in Season 5,” Ross Duffer previously said. “And that’s really going to affect what Season 5 is about.”

Netflix will split Stranger Things 5 into three parts:

• Volume 1 (Episodes 1–4): November 26
• Volume 2 (Episodes 5–7): Christmas Day
• Finale (Episode 8): New Year’s Eve
