Star Wars: Rogue One Passes $800 Million At Box Office

Star Wars: Rogue One continues to choke out all competition as Disney's first standalone movie of the franchise has passed the $800 million mark at the box office.

Star Wars: Rogue One has a current worldwide box office gross of $801,901,381, with $440,901,381 coming in the U.S., and $361,000,000 from foreign markets.

The $440.9 million number gives Star Wars: Rogue One the second best box office for a Star Wars movie in the U.S., trailing behind 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936.662 million).

Star Wars: Rogue One is also the second best action heroine flick (trails Force Awakens), second best prequel movie (currently trails Phantom Menace's $474 million), and has recently passed Marvel's Captain America: Civil War ($408 million) for the second best movie in 2016 (trails Finding Dory's $486m).

"Star Wars: Rogue One" is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, with Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker. Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel are producing, with John Knoll and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers.
