Spider-Man: Brand New Day Trailer Confirmed For Wednesday With First Look Released

Update: Watch the trailer here.

Sony and Tom Holland have now confirmed the first Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer will be released on Wednesday, and the first official look is already online.

The confirmation follows Sony recently launching the official movie website and kicking off the marketing push, which already had fans expecting the trailer was close.

The newly released image shows Spider-Man swinging through the city while carrying a man over his shoulder, which looks like a clear homage to Amazing Fantasy #15, the comic that marked the first appearance of Spider-Man back in 1962.

“No one can do it alone, not even Spider-Man. Follow along as the sun rises around the world and our Spider-Man community helps kick off the trailer launch for #SpiderManBrandNewDay!” posted Holland on Instagram, teasing “some of our biggest fans” will be releasing “pieces of the new trailer.”

Update: Watch the first footage released by fans on social media:

First look nods to Spider-Man’s comic book debut

The image immediately stood out to fans because it mirrors one of the most iconic visuals tied to Spider-Man’s origin in Marvel Comics.

Amazing Fantasy #15 featured Spider-Man swinging above the city while carrying a man under his arm, and the new Brand New Day image appears to echo that same setup.

It is an obvious way for Sony and Marvel to connect the new movie to the character’s roots while also building hype for the trailer drop.

That kind of callback makes sense for Brand New Day. Following the events of No Way Home, Peter Parker has been stripped back to basics, with his identity erased from the memories of the people closest to him.

Leaning into a classic Spider-Man visual fits with the idea that this movie could be presenting a more grounded and stripped-down version of the character.

Trailer arrives Wednesday

After all the recent rumors about whether the trailer would arrive this week, next week, or at CinemaCon, Sony has now made it official. The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set for Wednesday.

That follows Sony launching the official movie website and putting contest pages live, both of which pointed to the marketing campaign getting ready to ramp up. Now fans have confirmation.
