Zack Snyder revealed the first look at his version of Steppenwolf from the Snyder Cut of the Justice League movie head of today’s live-stream event.
“Steppenwolf demands your questions here for the live teaser event at 9am PT. I’ll be monitoring this feed live,” posted Snyder on Vero.
The Snyder Cut live-stream is currently happening and features Zack breaking down the new trailer scene by scene.
During the live-stream when the new trailer opened with Darkseid, Snyder actually teased, “Uxas and Steppenwolf will fight Doomsday.”
Zack also revealed that Steppenwolf is wearing armor, which he referred to as “Space Knight” armor, and that in the Snyder Cut there will be a scene of Steppenwolf without the armor.
The trailer also features a look at DeSaad in which Snyder said DeSaad acts as the go-between of Darkseid and Steppenwolf.
Snyder Cut Steppenwolf:
“Uxas and Steppenwolf will fight Doomsday,” says Zack Snyder
Recall that following Batman vs. Superman, Snyder actually said the real Doomsday is still out there, meaning that the Zod version was just a form of Doomsday and not the one fans are probably used to from the comics which originates on Krypton. So we can guess that prior to Krypton blowing up and Superman coming to Earth, that Darkseid teamed with Steppenwolf (his lieutenant) and fought and battled Doomsday. It would be amazing if the Snyder Cut actually shows footage of that.
We also see how much different Zack’s version is from the theatrical release of Justice League, as the theatrical release featured a Steppenwolf looking a lot more human-like, with Zack’s looking more like the monster teased in Batman vs. Superman.
The new trailer also teases the “Knightmare” world of Darkseid on Earth, but Zack really didn’t get into it because he didn’t want to spoil things. Zack did recently let it be known his plans for a Justice League 2 involve Darkseid on Earth, so hopefully, the rumors of Zack’s “Snyder Verse” continuing on the HBO Max streaming service are true and Justice League 2 gets made in addition to a Ben Affleck The Batman series and more.
The Snyder Cut gets released on HBO Max in 2021 starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.
