With the Snyder Cut coming to HBO Max it’s said the flick may lead to a Man of Steel 2 as well as Justice League 2.
YouTuber Grace Randolph claims that Warner Bros. has asked Zack Snyder to add seeds into his Snyder Cut for Man of Steel 2 and Justice League 2.
The recent news about Henry Cavill returning as Superman saw it reported that Warner Bros. presently isn’t developing a Man of Steel 2 movie.
It’s said that Henry Cavill will instead be making appearances in other DC movies such as possibly Aquaman 2, Black Adam, or Shazam! 2.
Grace suggests that Superman appearances of Henry Cavill will be sprinkled throughout the DCEU movies, and assuming they will be a success, the appearances would lead to Man of Steel 2 in addition to Justice League 2, which of course also depends on the success of the Snyder Cut on HBO Max.
WB wants Zack to connect Snyder Cut to Man of Steel 2 and Justice League 2
“Warner Bros. has asked Zack Snyder to put in the groundwork for both projects, Man of Steel 2 and Justice League 2, into the Snyder Cut,” said Randolph. “So that if it is a hit, they will have a place to move forward, a clear route.”
It’s also been thought that the story Zack Snyder created with his DCEU and the Snyder Cut might be continued on HBO Max, but Grace notes that with Henry Cavill back as Superman and talk of the Snyder Cut leading to Man of Steel 2 as well as Justice League 2, it could mean additional theatrical releases for Snyder’s DCEU stories.
I’ll add in my own two cents in that I just had conversations with Hollywood insiders, not about anything in particular, but they told me various studios are battling with movie theaters over streaming, and that Warner Bros. does eventually have plans to release new movies through HBO Max, so we will have to wait and see what happens.
I also heard the Snyder Cut will cost around $80 million, so if Zack is adding new content to connect to a Man of Steel 2 and Justice League 2, that could further explain the cost.
The Snyder Cut gets released in 2021 on HBO Max.
