Marvel shows off its hypocrisy, as a man if you can believe it, played She-Hulk in the finale throwback opener which was based on the 1970s TV show The Incredible Hulk starring Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno.
The actor who played the part, Devon Lewis, revealed behind-the-scenes footage on TikTok.
“A lot of people still haven’t realized that She-Hulk was played by a man… Yes motherf—ers, that’s me,” said Lewis.
What’s ironic is that star Tatiana Maslany blasted fans after the episode and told them f’k you about there being resistance to women.
“Reading the script, it was so true. There’s so much resistance to a woman just existing in that space of superheroes. There’s always going to be that. I sort of anticipated it. It’s why I also feel it’s important. There’s such an entitlement to space held by certain people, and to even exist as She-Hulk is like a f-ck-you, and I love that,” said Maslany.
Worth a mention is that the CGI version of Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk is played by 6′ 5” actress Maliah Arrayah so they could have used her or they even could have very well used a female bodybuilder, but instead they chose to use a man.
She-Hulk baits fans following Captain Marvel release
More than likely, they used a man to further bait fans as the showrunner revealed in a post-finale interview that three years ago when they started to think of ideas for the show, they came up with the idea to troll fans.
“Our writers room opened three years ago. The fact that we were able to predict what the reaction was going to be, what a lot of the trolling comments were going to be, really shows how very tired and unoriginal these trolls are. That really tickled me because the little troll that lives inside of me really loves trolling the trolls,” Jessica Gao said.
What is odd is that three years ago was the year 2019, so the only Marvel movie that the “trolls” didn’t like at the time happened to be Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel (45% Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score).
So in essence, it sounds like She-Hulk is revenge for fans not liking Brie Larson and Captain Marvel?
That’s pretty wild.
Blame the fans
As I have pointed out many times, maybe the fans are right about Captain Marvel – err the trolls? – as the sequel is not titled “Captain Marvel,” doesn’t have the writing and directing team returning, and has added two additional characters and actresses to star alongside Brie Larson.
Larson who has been showing off her space buns also recently questioned her return.
“Does anyone want me to do it again?” she said.
Captain Marvel, sounds like a big success, doesn’t it? Read my review here which explains it all.
Trolls are to blame of course. Just as they are for the failure of Black Widow, Eternals, Doctor Strange 2, Thor: Love and Thunder, and ALL the Disney Plus shows, and not Marvel who hasn’t put out any quality content or strong representation for these characters.
