Amazon MGM has released a second trailer for Project Hail Mary, offering a deeper look at the high-stakes sci-fi thriller starring Ryan Gosling. The new preview highlights the film’s central relationship—an unexpected bond between Gosling’s character and a mysterious alien—as the two work together to save their planets.

Gosling’s Mission Gets Clearer
Ryan Gosling plays Ryland Grace, a former science teacher who wakes up alone on a spaceship, with no memory and an impossible task: stop a cosmic disaster threatening Earth. Trailer #2 focuses on his growing partnership with an intelligent alien facing the same crisis, emphasizing the emotional core of the story.
From the Team Behind The Martian and Spider-Verse
Directed by Oscar winners Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and based on Andy Weir’s bestselling novel, Project Hail Mary mixes science fiction with emotional storytelling. Drew Goddard, who previously adapted The Martian, wrote the screenplay. Gosling also serves as a producer.
Big-Screen Release Set for 2026
Amazon MGM will release Project Hail Mary exclusively in theaters and IMAX on March 20, 2026. The film co-stars Sandra Hüller and Milana Vayntrub, with cinematography by Dune DP Greig Fraser.
