It’s learned that Chris McKay is in talks to direct the Dungeons & Dragons movie from Hasbro and Paramount.
Following Paramount having given D&D a July 23, 2021 release date, now Chris McKay, the director of The LEGO Batman movie, is negotiations to direct the big-screen adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons (via Variety).
Dungeons & Dragons is the role-playing fantasy adventure game first created in the 1970s in which players are characters in an ongoing fantasy story. The core of D&D is storytelling. You and your friends tell a story together, guiding your heroes through quests for treasure, battles with deadly foes, daring rescues, courtly intrigue, and much more.
Dungeons & Dragons got real big in the 80s, which even saw it get banned from schools, and it spawned a cartoon from ’83 to ’85 as well as a poorly received movie in 2000.
Dungeons & Dragons has also received renewed interest thanks to Netflix’s Stranger Things.
Regarding the Nighwing movie, Chris McKay recently updated that the script is almost finished.
