New details are learned about the upcoming Sony Venom movie starring Tom Hardy.

Variety reports Veep actor Reid Scott is in talks for a role, thought to be playing a doctor in the lab where the Venom symbiote is being held–and not playing Carnage who has yet to be cast.

The reporter further takes to Twitter and offers that Riz Ahmed’s character owns the lab and is described as an Elon Musk type.

Reid Scott would also join Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate on Venom.

Venom has an October 5, 2018 release directed by Ruben Fleischer with Scott Rosenberg (Jumanji), Jeff Pinkner (The Dark Tower) and Kelly Marcel writing the script and Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach producing the movie along with Amy Pascal.

Venom is described as an R-rated action horror sci-fi movie and filming looks to begin soon.
