Watch: Guardians of the Galaxy Rocket Raccoon Reel

Following the Knowhere Reel for Guardians of the Galaxy, now check out Rocket Raccoon above.

Framestore released the video and goes over how they created the space raccoon.

“If you exaggerate his performance and make him too cartoony you’ve lost the audience but if you go too real you’ll end up with something that isn’t entertaining or doesn’t do Bradley’s voice justice,” explains Animation Supervisor Kevin Spruce.

“James Gunn instinctively had a gut feeling of what was right for Rocket. He often wanted to keep him casual and low-key, rather than over-acted,” he continues. “He was very big on the fact that when you shoot live action the actors don’t always look at each other when they’re talking, whereas there’s a tendency for animators to always make characters face who they’re talking to. The animation team worked hard to get all that observational detail into Rocket and became really intuitive to what he would do in any situation.”

John Barrowman offers when he was younger Aquaman was his fantasy, with Paul Blackthorne adding, “Oh, yeah. Me, too.” Barrowman then jokes, “I bet. He’s such a liar,” and offers a story about his husband, Scott: “I joke with [him] all the time that I’m going to give him an Aquaman outfit that he can swim around in the swimming pool with, but we’ll just leave it at that.”

Jesse L. Martin also likes Aquaman: “Jason Momoa is the man. And the picture they showed – it’s nothing at all like I thought Aquaman would look like, but it’s still really cool. Like really, really cool.”

Fantastic Four Movie To Feature Comic Book Costumes

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19685:]]

Though it was previously said we might not see costumes in the Fantastic Four reboot, images revealed some sort of outfit, which has been described as “containment suits.”

Now it’s learned Fantastic Four will feature more traditional looking costumes as well.

Miles Teller spoke about the Fantastic Four costumes with Screen Crush.

These are the beta versions of the costumes, which is great […] But, yeah it would be very odd if the Fantastic Four didn’t don the traditional costumes. You’ve got to. There is some servicing there. You’ve got to give that to the fans. That’s what it’s all about.

It’s also suggested that the costumes may feature the “F” logo and could possibly be revealed at the end of the movie (and not having to wait for the sequel).

Fox also released a new image:

Blue Thunder Remake On The Way

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19683:]]

I’m more of an Airwolf guy myself, but this could still be pretty cool as Sony is developing a Blue Thunder remake.

Blue Thunder debuted in 1983 as a movie followed by the TV series in 1984.

THR reports this time out, Blue Thunder will not be a helicopter, but the world’s most advanced drone.

Marvel Studios’ Craig Kyle is writing the script (and also writing Thor 3);  Dana Brunetti (Fifty Shades Of Grey) is producing along with Michael De Luca.

The original Blue Thunder starred Roy Scheider and was directed by John Badham, which centered around a military-style combat helicopter that was configured for police use to combat large-scale civil disobedience during the 1984 Olympic Games held in Los Angeles.

With drones becoming so popular in our cuture, expect more movies as it’s noted further drone movies are in development including Ethan Hawke’s Good Kill and Gavin Hood’s Eye in the Sky.

Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool movie looks to begin filming soon, which looks to please the fanboys.

Though fans were less than pleased with Deadpool in the 2009: X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie, it sounds as if the new Deadpool movie is on the right track.

Ryan Reynolds recently spoke with Shortlist.com where he offered the following promising comments.

I’m incredibly happy about it – we’ve got a director that understands that world, and writers with a slavish devotion to the canon of that character. That’s the most important aspect: it’s made in a way the most critical of fanboys could embrace. Well, that’s the hope.

Reynolds also tweeted a couple of days ago that he participated in a photoshoot for the movie.

Robert Kirkman Blasts DC’s Approach To Batman Vs Superman & Justice League

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19654:]]

We just heard Patton Oswalt’s rant about the DC Movies, now it’s creator of The Walking Dead Robert Kirkman’s turn.

Kirkman appeared on a panel titled “Creative Activism” at the South by Southwest conference in Austin earlier on Saturday where he talked about the difference between Marvel’s approach to The Avengers and DC’s with Batman Vs. Superman and Justice League.

“I’m going to get in trouble here … Anyone would be foolish to think that Marvel hasn’t done something extremely special. I think of Iron Man ending with with a surprise cameo from Samuel L. Jackson [mentioning] The Avengers – you were like, ‘What?! How did that happen?!’ People forget that was a surprise. Everything that came out of that was very organic and very exciting. I think [DC] announcing you’re going to do a Justice League movie after a Superman movie, that was neat and had some awesome things in it, but it wasn’t like amazing or groundbreaking – I shouldn’t have said that. It was an awesome movie, I like it. [The plan] just seems derivative, so it puts them in a backseat position to Marvel. It’s not organic so there’s going to be so much scrutiny on Batman vs. Superman when it comes out. It’s got an uphill battle. If they hadn’t told anybody if the Justice League were going to appearing in that, and they were forming that, it would have been surprising and exciting and weird. People are forgetting how important the surprise is. But, you know, Aquaman looks awesome and I’m sure it will be great.”

Guardians of the Galaxy is about 8 months old and still new material is hitting the net.

Check out the “Knowhere Reel” above, which was put together by Framestore.

“I have a lot of favourite things about this show, but my heart belongs to the interior of Knowhere,” says VFX Supervisor Kyle McCulloch. “We just spent so much time developing it and making it a real place. We designed different neighbourhoods with different colours and different types of houses, there’s so much backstory that went into the design and making it complex enough to be real. In the end I hope it just goes by and provides a great visual backdrop, but for us there was so much that went into making it.”

We built Knowhere, our most complicated environment to date, for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and then staged a dog-fight that explored every inch of it. Here we’ve linked up all our shots in the 4-mile wide and 1.2 billion polygon world.

Paul Feig Not Involved With Male Ghostbusters; Has Words For Haters

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19649:]]

Director Paul Feig is launching the start of a new Ghostbusters universe with his movie featuring an all-female cast.

When the announcement was first made, some people on the internet weren’t too happy, and now Feig offers a further response to the haters.  Feig also says some people on the internet have a problem with him adding women into the movie.

“The biggest thing I’ve heard for the last four months is, ‘Thanks for ruining my childhood.’ It’s going to be on my tombstone when I die,” Feig told Variety. “It’s so dramatic. Honestly, the only way I could ruin your childhood is if I got into a time machine and went back and made you an orphan.

“I figure it’s some wacked-out teenager,” Feig continues. “But almost constantly it’s someone who’s bio says ‘Proud father of two!’ And has some high-end job. You’re raising children and yet you’re bashing me about putting women in my movie?”

Feig also offers that he isn’t involved in the new recently announced male Ghostbusters which looks to star Channing Tatum.

“I’d heard some rumblings about it,” Feig said. “Who knew there were so many ghosts to be busted in the world?”

It is noted that Feig states he is a fan of Tatum and the Russo Bros., who are rumored to direct, but Feig is concentrating on the ladies.

“All I know is my ladies are going to kick ass and I would not want to go into battle without them.”

Feig’s Ghostbusters has a July 22, 2016 release starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong and Leslie Jones.

With the announcement of the male Ghostbusters movie, Sony also announced a new production studio to oversee the franchise with Ivan Reitman and Dan Aykroyd involved, which will see Ghostbusters expanded into not only movies, but TV and licensing.
