Deadpool Movie Run-Time Possibly Revealed

Deadpool Red-Band Trailer #2

Will too much of a good thing spoil things?

Well, that’s potentially what may be the thought behind the Deadpool movie as the run-time for the film has possibly been revealed.

Fox Studios’ Spanish website for Deadpool lists the movie at 106 minutes in length, which is 1 hour and 46 minutes long.

While the run-time may seem a lot shorter than other comic book movies, judging by the Deadpool trailers, the 1 hour and 46 minutes will probably be a fast-paced action extravaganza.

For comparison: The Avengers: Age Of Ultron is 2 hours and 21 minutes; Star Wars: The Force Awakens is 2 hours and 16 minutes; The Wolverine is 2 hours and 16 minutes; X-Men: Days Of Future Past is 2 hours and 38 minutes, and Fantastic Four is 1 hour and 47 minutes.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Script Leaks Online

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23574:]]

A “final script” for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has leaked online.

The script was apparently leaked after being sent to members of the Writers Guild Association and has been confirmed by Lucasfilm’s Peter Hidalgo on Twitter as well as a profressional screenwriter on Reddit to be legit.

“It’s legit. It came directly to us WGA members from Disney,” the Redditor posted.

“So if you can see the WGA script, yes, the name of the planet from the end of the movie is there,” Pablo Hildago posted New Year’s Day on Twitter.

Check out the opening movie text as well as the description of the final scene.

Opening text:

Luke Skywalker has vanished. In his absence, the sinister FIRST ORDER has risen from the ashes of the Empire and will not rest until Skywalker, the last Jedi, has been destroyed.

With the support of the REPUBLIC, General Leia Organa leads a brave RESISTANCE. She is desperate to find her brother Luke and gain his help in restoring peace and justice to the galaxy.

Leia has sent her most daring pilot on a secret mission to Jakku, where an old ally has discovered a clue to Luke’s whereabouts….

End scene:

EXT. AHCH-TO ISLAND – STONE STRUCTURES – DAY

Rey arrives at a clearing. Small, modest, primitive stone structures. But no one around. Rey walks past them, sees, senses no one.

And then she stops. Feels something. She turns. Standing forty feet away from her, his back to us, is a MAN, in a CLOAK AND ROBE.

Rey stares, knowing exactly who it is. But she just stares for what seems like forever. Until he finally TURNS, SLOWLY, to her. Pulls back his hood.

IT IS LUKE SKYWALKER.

Older now, white hair, bearded. He looks at Rey. A kindness in his eyes, but there’s something tortured, too. He doesn’t need to ask her who she is, or what she is doing here. His look says it all.

In response, Rey pulls something from the pack. LUKE’S LIGHTSABER.

And she holds it out to him. An offer. A plea. The galaxy’s only hope.

HOLD ON LUKE SKYWALKER’S INCREDIBLE FACE, amazed and conflicted at what he sees, as our MUSIC BUILDS, the promise of an adventure, just beginning…

Luke’s Planet Name Revealed For Star Wars: The Force Awakens

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23572:]]

Obvious spoilers follow for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

I’m not sure if they mentioned it in the movie (still gotta see it again), but the Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary reveals the name of the planet Luke Skywalker is on at the end of the movie when Rey finds him. The planet name is also confirmed by the Lucasfilm exec in charge of cannon, Pablo Hidalgo.

So what’s the name of Luke’s planet?

It’s Ahch-To:

Update: The leaked WGA script reveals the name as well.

The Star Wars wiki offers the following:

Ahch-To was an aquatic planet which served, three decades after the Galactic Civil War, as the home to Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, who went into exile seeking the first Jedi Temple after his new generation of Jedi were killed by the Knights of Ren. Ahch-To had numerous islands, which Skywalker sought out during his exile. After the Resistance pieced together two map fragments to reveal Skywalker’s location, Rey traveled to Ahch-To in the Millennium Falcon accompanied by R2-D2 and Chewbacca, in search of him.

Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice Gets New Synopsis

Batman Vs. Superman Trailer #2

We get a new description/synopsis for Batman Vs. Superman as a UK movie site has provided the following:

Following his titanic struggle against General Zod, Metropolis has been razed to the ground and Superman is the most controversial figure in the world. While for many he is still an emblem of hope, a growing number of people consider him a threat to humanity, seeking justice for the chaos he has brought to Earth.

As far as Bruce Wayne is concerned, Superman is clearly a danger to society. He fears for the future of the world with such a reckless power left ungoverned, and so he dons his mask and cape to right Superman’s wrongs.

The rivalry between them is furious, fuelled by bitterness and vengeance, and nothing can dissuade them from waging this war. However, a dark new threat arises in the form of a third man: one who has a power greater than either of them to endanger the world and cause total destruction.

The superhero stand-off that the world has been waiting for is finally arriving in cinemas, with an all-star cast bringing to life the characters we all love.

Zack Snyder (300) returns as director following the huge success of 2013’s Man of Steel, along with Henry Cavill (The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) in the role of Superman.

Also starring Ben Affleck (Gone Girl) as Batman, Amy Adams (American Hustle) as Lois Lane, and Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 7) as Wonder Woman, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is an explosive, action-packed blockbuster that is sure to thrill DC fans everywhere.

Watch: The Rey Kenobi Star Wars: The Force Awakens Theory

Just who in the hay is Rey?!

That seems to be the question on everyone’s mind following Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Different theories have hit the net ranging from my own personal guess that Rey is Force-born like Anakin, to the obvious in that Rey is the daughter of Luke Skywalker, to Rey being a long lost padawan of some sort. You can check out the fan theories here.

Another theory is that Rey is a relation to Obi-Wan Kenobi. Is Rey the grand-daughter of Obi-Wan and the daughter of Luke? Meaning Luke had a child with Obi-Wan’s daughter?

While we don’t know and have no definitive answers, the Mr. Sunday Movies YouTube Channel goes over the theory that Rey is a Kenobi. Check it out above.

Any guesses?

James Gunn Talks Captain America: Civil War & Tom Holland Spider-Man

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23544:]]

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn just participated in a live Facebook Q&A where he tackeled the topic of Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man. Obviously Gunn couldn’t offer specific details, but he did state the following:

I really like the [Doctor Strange] script. What I really like is… I saw Civil War, and I think it’s incredible. I think it’s one of the best Marvel movies ever. I can’t believe what a wonderful job the Russo brothers did and the cast. Oh my, God. They are so good. So it’s an amazing film and people are going to be excited to see that come Summer time. It’s really great.

On Tom Holland playing Spider-Man:

Tom Holland is off the charts awesome. Off the charts, truly, Hand to my heart amazing.

Gunn also offered Thanos won’t be a part (or a major part?) of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 as it’s its own story. Guardians 2 starts filming in February for a May 5, 2017 release.

Possible Batman Vs. Superman Spoilers From Advanced Screening

Batman Vs. Superman Trailer #2

We may have potential Batman Vs. Superman spoilers as a Reddit user is claiming he/she attended a surprise advance screening in Los Angeles.

Obvious this could be BS, but spoiler warning is in effect.

Note: It’s not unheard of for studios to do advance screenings, which may or may not be a rough cut with some special effects missing. That’s how we got our Transformers: Age Of Extinction spoiler info.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23543:]]

Spoiler warning again, as a potential BIG CAMEO is revealed:

Hey DC_Cinematic, i’m using a throwaway account for obvious reasons, but I saw the movie last night! I use a website for advance screenings and I got tickets for a mystery film and it turned out to be BvS.

The movie was very long, as long as TFA if I were to make a comparison. It didn’t drag though; every minute of the film was used effectively.

Performances were all great. Jesse Eisenberg as Lex is way more complex than what the trailers show. By the end of the film, you will HATE him, but at the same time, you can’t help admire how capable this guy is.

Ben Affleck as Bruce/Batman is definitely the standout performance. I was surprised/scared how different he became when he put the mask on. This Batman will come across as a villain to some viewers; he enjoys inflicting pain on criminals. There was a scene where he was branding a criminal, and he had the biggest smile on his face. I don’t know how fans will react to that, but I felt it worked with this version of the character.

Everyone else was great too, even the new supporting characters played by Jena Malone and Scoot McNairy. Jena Malone plays a crippled Barbara Gordon. She doesn’t have much screentime, but she does make a Killing Joke reference about an amusement park incident involving her now retired father. Scoot is playing Jimmy Olsen who was injured during the events of Man of Steel. He does not blame Superman like the others, but supports him and views him as a hero. He has a popular blog about Superman.

The third act was mindblowing. The Doomsday reveal in the trailer is just the tip of the iceberg. There is a lot of action, and I loved every moment of it. The first and second acts are the “Batman v Superman” parts of the movie, while the third act is entirely “Dawn of Justice.” You will see a fully assembled Justice League by the end of the film.

All in all, BvS is the greatest comic book movie since The Dark Knight, and I can’t wait to see it again come March.

If anyone has questions, i’ll be glad to answer.

I forgot to talk about the whole LexOS subplot. I felt the movie would have been fine without it, because it doesn’t connect with Doomsday at all. It’s basically thrown into the plot so that there’s more things to fight at the end. LexCorp is basically developing a worldwide drone system to protect against alien invasion. There is fierce opposition to it, especially from General Swanwick. He believes that humans should always be in control of powerful weapons such as the drones. This leads to a pretty cool scene of Swanwick sending his best pilot to compete against a drone, Hal Jordan! (played by Dan Amboyer)

On Green Lantern:

Already GL, he reveals himself at the end during the drone fight.

Practical but with CGI enhancements. Classic GL look, white gloves and domino mask. Kinda muted green though.

GL costume wasn’t full CGI, but had CGI enhancements. White gloves and domino mask are all there.

Green Lantern with the white gloves and domino mask.

Dan Amboyer as Hal Jordan was funny. He was cocky and he had every right to be with all the cool stuff he did.

Fighting Doomsday:

They used a Kryptonite ray from Lex’s lab. It was cool because everywhere they hurt him, a new layer of spikes would form on top of it. Wonder Woman stabbed him in the chest, he pulls it out and then grows a chest guard.

Doomsday is a mutated General Zod.

Do they call it Doomsday?

Wonder Woman does.

Batman’s nightmares:

PTSD from what Bruce experienced during Metropolis incident.

It’s a recurring nightmare, it’s not one long continuous sequence. We get fragments throughout the film

Robin:

Dick Grayson is alive somewhere, and was a former Robin. Todd died at the hands of the Joker.

Flash and Aquaman:

They both help stop Lex’s drones in the third act

Cyborg:

He’s there too. He awakes from his coma and freaks out at the sight of his new robotic enhancements. He then escapes from the LexCorp lab and sees all the drone chaos.

BOOYEAH. Ray Fisher as Victor Stone is seen on TV in Lois and Clark’s apartment in the beginning of the film. He gets hurt during the Doomsday breakout because he was visiting his father Silas, a LexCorp scientist. He of course gets enhanced.

We see him scoring a touchdown and winning a championship. He is then interviewed, saying that he wished his dad was there to see him.

Batman vs Superma fights:

Two fights, two different victors.

Supes confronts Bats during a warehouse sequence. Bats tries to fight him off using the Batmobile, but it doesn’t work out. Supes tears open the doors and tells Batman that what he is doing is wrong. Superman realizes that Batman is Bruce Wayne and leaves. Second fight is of course the one with the Bat armor. Bats uses Kryptonite to weaken Supes and leaves him battered. He does a variation of the “man who beat you” speech.”

Joker:

Joker is teased a lot and according to Oracle, Dick is in undercover somewhere.

Lots of Joker references. Jason Todd beaten to death 5 years ago by the Joker. Bats nearly kills him and sends him to Arkham.

Callan Mulvey:

Head of security at LexCorp, doesn’t do much in the film besides getting the shit beaten out of him by Batman.

Batman:

This Batman would beat Captain America in a fight. He’s huge, but also extremely agile.

Batman does not have guns that fire bullets.

He is a master at stealth, there is a scene that showcases this.

Batman’s voice:

Yes, it’s less booming though in the regular suit compared to the armored suit.

Aquaman:

The toy is an accurate representation of Aquaman. GL looks like classic

Jason Momoa was scary as Aquaman. Out of all the JL members, he was the most fun to watch. Pure savagery.

Protecting some ships from the drones, before going inland to fight the rest of them.

He has blonde highlights.

Wonder Woman:

Sure. You don’t see it in the trailers, but Wonder Woman actually has a white cloak/robe. She takes it off prior to fighting Doomsday. She uses all of her weapons during the fight (lasso, shield, sword, gauntlets). She fights as technical as Batman, but with the power of Superman behind it. She’s not eager to fight, but she knows she has to and won’t stop until she is the victor.

Wonder Woman uses the Lasso of Truth for fighting, but not for it’s magical purposes. Probably saving it for solo WW film.

Gal Gadot keeps her accent as WW.

She’s seen throughout the film and is known as the Themiscyra ambassador. She is against LexOS and is trying to get people, such as Bruce, to join her cause. GG is a believable and beautiful Diana Prince, every line she says is always backed with a sense of sincerity and purity, but also carried with weight.

Batcave:

Batcave was bigger than I was expecting. He has a Batsuit display with old Batsuits. There was a Batsuit that kinda looked like Michael Keaton’s! Robin had his own room, complete with a staff display and motorcycle.

Superman:

Superman came to terms with what happened with Zod, but he does feel guilty about all the civilian lives lost.

The Flash:

Ezra was never out of costume, all Flash. He did not have blond hair from what I saw from his eyebrows. It’s either black or really dark brown.

You definitely see the Flash, he helps stop the drones at the end. His costume, from what I can infer, is made from the same material as Superman’s costume. He has armor plates on it, and parts of the suit glows yellow. It was really cool.

Lex going Bald:

Kryptonite poisoning

Jesse Eisenberg as Lex:

Multi-layered, reminds me of Heath’s Joker. He stole every scene he was in, and left you wanting more. I loved how much I hated him.

Lex mentions how ARGUS wants to collaborate with him on LexOS, but he doesn’t wanna deal with the “bureaucratic lady in charge of it.”

Lex sent some workers to look for Kryptonite at locations of the world engine. One of them was in the ocean.

Lex’s public persona is what we saw in the second trailer. Quirky and goofy. His actual persona is a man who is filled with blind hate and will use all the resources available to him to get what he wants. He believes he is the one who should be seen as the most powerful because he worked to get everything he has. Anyone who supports Superman is a traitor to mankind.

Michael Shannon:

What you see from the trailers is pretty much what you get. Lex has his body, experiments on it to make Doomsday.

No, he’s as dead as the Waynes.

Who sent the letter to the Waynes’?

Joker

Any mention of JL big bad?

No, they wanna keep it a surprise I guess. I was hoping for a Darkseid post-credits scene.

A Lex Scene/s:

Lex invites Senator Finch to his mansion. Finch is the most vocal against Superman, which is why Lex wants to work with her. They both don’t trust this alien that came out of nowhere and leveled a city. Lex goes on a monologue about how humans have survived and thrived for thousands of years without the help of a god.

This scene was interesting because it’s the first time Lex stops putting on the fake public persona and gets really serious and lays it out to the audience about why he does what he does.

Yeah, they both blame Superman. The Daily Planet all support Superman. Lois wrote a piece about how Superman saved the world.

Lex had Lois taken by Mercy Graves, which is why Supes wasn’t in a position to argue. Lots of Lois, she is investigating Lex. The boy was just a random LexCorp worker.

He created Doomsday because he was pushed to the limit by Superman. He wanted Batman to kill him, but when he didn’t, Lex felt like he had no other choice. This Lex is true to the comics in the way that he is extremely jealous of Superman and wants nothing else than to see him fall.

Bruce and Diana:

They’re both intrigued by one another, as if they know there is more than meets the eye.

Start of movie:

Yes. It starts out like any normal day in Metropolis, Bruce is having a board meeting. Then the the world engine turns on, chaos ensues, buildings start collapsing. 9/11 vibes during the whole sequence. I had goosebumps during the whole thing. It makes you sympathize with Bruce.

On end of movie:

No cliffhanger. Film ends with the JL members knowing about each other and agreeing to work together again if anything bad happens like this again, Batman was reluctant though. Lex goes to trial, but most likely won’t be found guilty, because he has people on the jury and people willing to be scapegoats.

It does have a lot of characters, but all of them play a specific role. Senator Finch, Jimmy Olsen, Lois, Perry, Swanwick, and etc. are all pieces of the puzzle if you will. Instead of crowding the film, they all play a role.

Most surprising moment, definitely the spectacle that is the third act with all the JL members.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has a March 25, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter as Senator Finch and Tao Okamoto as Mercy Graves. Geoff Johns and Kevin Smith Tease Suicide Squad Trailer: “It’s F’n Impressive”

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23541:]]

Earlier today saw WB announce two new DC specials, which will see a new trailer for Suicide Squad debut.

Kevin Smith is hosting the Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of the Justice League special which will feature DC Entertainment chief creative officer and writer Geoff Johns.

Now the duo have taken to Instagam to tease the arrival of the Suicide Squad trailer. In addition, Smith let it be known that the Suicide Squad trailer is “f’n impressive” on his podcast.

The Suicide Squad trailer premiers following The Flash, Tuesday, January 19th at 9pm EST on the CW (full details on the announcement can be found here which includes mention of the first Wonder Woman footage).

Kevin Smith on the podcast:

“I saw the Suicide Squad trailer and it was f—ing impressive. Like, hats off to the f—ing marketing people and the trailer I saw, the second trailer. I’m not gonna spoil anything about it. Tell you this much, it’s got a lot of footage, song choice is perfect. That’s what they’re building. A moody campaign and like it’s not ‘This is [frick]ing villains fighting villains and shit.’ they’re building something that people don’t really read comics are interested in. I find it very fascinating what they’re doing. So I saw this second trailer, it is f—ing wonderful. It’s got a tone but I would say the second trailer has got a lot of humor and it’s not humor of the simple variety. They’ll play out a joke with dialogue, not just a quip. Some of the shots are goddamn gorgeous. I like this guy, (David Ayer) he’s a great director. Based on those two trailers, give him whatever he wants, let him make more DC movies. He’s got an eye man. Can’t spoil it, but it’s coming soon and that’s the good news.”

Smith on Instagram:

SQUAD GOALS! Harley Quinn’s bat! Deadshot’s mask! Katana’s Soultaker Sword! @geoffjohnsdc & I will show you these sacred #suicidesquad totems & lots of @batmanvsuperman stuff during the #dccomics movie special airing on @thecw JAN 19! See the world premiere of the EPIC new @SuicideSquadWB trailer (it is sublime perfection) and footage from the set of the currently shooting #wonderwoman movie! The special follows a @cw_legendsoftomorrow preview special so if you’re a @dcentertainment fan, get a #kryptonite condom: because you’re gonna bust a super nut!
