The Flash Movie Is A Go!

The Flash Movie Is A Go!

It’s confirmed that The Flash movie is happening with John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein on board to direct.

John Francis Daley took to Twitter to confirm the news.

“It’s happening!” Daley enthusiastically tweeted with an animated GIF of The Flash running.

WB previously announced The Flash movie will be titled Flashpoint, which in the comics is an alternate universe that comes about as a result of Barry Allen going back in time and saving his mother’s life that in turn wrecks havoc on the timestream. The DC universe is gone as we know it–replaced with a darker and twisted version of itself with changes including that it was the young Bruce Wayne who was killed and his parents survived to go on to become the Thomas Wayne Batman and the Martha Wayne Joker! Flashpoint also sees Wonder Woman and her Amazons at war with Aquaman and his Atlanteans. The world of Flashpoint doesn’t even feature a Superman as baby Kal-El was captured upon crashing on Earth and has been experimented on and kept away from sunlight.

It remains to be seen how much of the Flashpoint comic WB will actually adapt as it comes off as a pretty dark story. The comic story was really awesome, but I’ll be surprised if the Flashpoint movie is a straight adaptation.

Ezra Miller is set to return as The Flash.

A release date also has yet to be announced.

John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein most recently directed Game Night for WB, which opened last week to over $17 million.
