First Lady Melania Trump is calling out Jimmy Kimmel and Disney’s ABC after the late-night host’s latest monologue took aim at her family.
In a post on X, Melania Trump said Kimmel’s remarks were not comedy and accused the ABC host of spreading political hate.
“Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country,” she posted. “His monologue about my family isn’t comedy — his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America.”
She continued by saying Kimmel should not have a nightly platform on ABC.
“People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate,” she said. “A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.”
Jimmy Kimmel Already Faced Backlash After Charlie Kirk Assassination
The comments come after Kimmel was already in the hot seat over his response to the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Kirk, the conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder, was murdered in September 2025. Kimmel later sparked outrage when he discussed the killing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and criticized conservatives over how they were reacting to the suspect and the political fallout.
ABC suspended Jimmy Kimmel Live! after the controversy, with major affiliate groups also pulling the show from their stations. ABC later brought the show back after several days off the air.
Kimmel later defended himself, saying critics “maliciously mischaracterized” his remarks and that he did not intend to make light of Kirk’s murder.
Conservatives argued the damage had already been done, with many accusing Kimmel of pushing a political narrative during a national tragedy.
What Kimmel Said About Melania Trump
The new controversy centers on Kimmel’s mock White House Correspondents’ Dinner roast, where he targeted President Donald Trump, Melania Trump, and members of the Trump family.
During the bit, Kimmel joked about the First Lady and said, “Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow,” according to Fox News.
The line drew immediate backlash from Trump supporters, especially because it aired days before a shooting disrupted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Kimmel’s segment also went after Trump’s marriage, Melania’s public appearances, and the president’s long-running feud with the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Entertainment outlets described the monologue as a fake WHCD roast aimed at Trump after this year’s dinner moved forward without a traditional comedian.
