Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD: Joss Whedon Talks Bringing Back Coulson

Catch up with Joss Whedon as he talks for almost five minutes in the following recon video for Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Whedon, who was recently learned to have been flown into London to fix a couple Thor 2 scenes, talks how Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. came together.

Whedon lets it be known that what appealed to him about the show is that Agent Coulson has no powers amongst all the people that do as well as being the little guy in a huge universe.

The Avengers director also comments on fan reaction to Coulson’s death in the movie and states something real needed to happen, no matter the heart break and outrage. Whedon then goes on to state this being the Marvel Universe, people often come back, but they had no intention of bringing Coulson back until the S.H.I.E.L.D. show came together. “Well, we can’t do it without him,” Whedon said.

Regarding the comic books, Whedon doesn’t specifically state that the series will follow certain arcs from the stories, but offers they are going for the same feeling.

Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres Tuesday, September 24th at 8pm ET.
