What happened in Season 1

Marvel Zombies Season 1 was a four-episode animated series that premiered on Disney+ on September 24, 2025. It spun out of the zombie universe first introduced in What If…? and followed a new group of survivors trying to stay alive in a world overrun by undead Marvel heroes.

The series centered on Kamala Khan, Kate Bishop, and Riri Williams as they battled through the apocalypse alongside other survivors while facing zombified Avengers and other infected heroes. Marvel also leaned harder into the horror than usual, making Marvel Zombies its first TV-MA animated series.

By the end, the surviving humans went up against a zombified Wanda Maximoff, the Queen of the Dead, who was trying to claim the power of the Infinity Stones from Hulk.

The survivors lost, Wanda won, and the season ended on a dark note with Kamala trapped in one of Wanda’s illusions as the zombies came out on top.
