Marvel Vs. Capcom 4 Not Happening

This week saw the fifth anniversary of the release of the popular Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 video game depicting the likes of Richard Rider Nova, Rocket Raccoon and Spider-Man vs. Ryu, Chris Redfield and Viewtiful Joe. The game also included a cool battle vs Galactus and lots more characters.

Hopes of a Marvel Vs. Capcom 4 are dashed, however, as Capcom developer and MVC3 creator Ryota Niitsuma took to Twitter to state it isn’t happening.

“Thanks for keeping the love for the game going!” Ryota Niitsuma tweeted. “I would love to make [Marvel Vs. Capcom 4], but nothing’s happening on that front.”

It seems forever ago that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was released as I recall being at the 2011 NYCC where promotions for the game were everywhere. It’s a shame there won’t be a Marvel Vs. Capcom 4; the game was a lot of fun.

The latest regarding a new Marvel video game is that it seems as if TellTale Games is developing a Guardians of the Galaxy platform game.
