What happened?

Rumors about Disney firing Mark Ruffalo started after the actor appeared at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards red carpet, and Ruffalo publicly criticized U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and President Donald Trump following the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good, a 37‑year‑old Minneapolis woman who was shot and killed by an ICE agent on January 7 during an immigration enforcement operation.

Ruffalo spoke directly about the incident to reporters, calling the situation troubling and referring to ICE agents as “literal stormtroopers.” He also strongly condemned Trump, using highly charged language to describe the president’s character and moral leadership.

“[Trump] is a convicted felon, a convicted rapist. He’s a pedophile. He’s the worst human being,” said Ruffalo, a known socialist. “If we’re relying on this guy’s morality for the most powerful country in the world, then we’re all in a lot of trouble.”
