Leaked Godzilla (2014) Comic-Con Footage Hits The Net Giving Us First Look At Monster

It looks like we may have our first look at the new Gareth Edwards Godzilla in the form of a video that was shot at the Legendary Encounter Exhibit outside Comic-Con.

Gareth Edwards showed off a clip from Godzilla at Comic-Con revealing a peek at the King of Monsters, and now we get a look as well.

As this footage seems to be from the Godzilla Encounter that was housed outside of the SDCC in a separate building, I’m guessing this is new footage, or similar to the statue, just concept and not final.

Regardless, we get a look at Godzilla walking through the streets.

If it is indeed just concept footage, it may not be the final look of Godzilla as Gareth Edwards previously said the concept statue wasn’t 100% exact.

Interestingly enough, in a recent interview Edwards stated he had hoped the Godzilla footage from last year’s Comic-Con would have leaked online. At least there is the following.

Godzilla opens May 16, 2014 in 3D starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, and Juliette Binoche, with David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston. The screenplay is by Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont, and Dave Callaham.

Synopsis:

An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

Update: Legendary asked us to take down the footage as well as the image. Here is a pic of the concept statue and the latest posters:

Update #2: Here’s an animated gif of the Godzilla Comic-Con footage over at Tumblr and here.
