With Jon Watts now filming Spider-Man: Far From Home it is learned that J.B. Smoove has joined the cast of the sequel.
The role the actor is playing is unknown, though some fans are guessing J. Jonah Jameson, the editor of the Daily Planet, who was recently played by J.K. Simmons for the Sam Raimi films.
J.B. Smoove did recently play a driving instructor in an Audi commercial for Spider-Man: Homecoming featuring Tom Holland as Peter Parker (watch below), but it remains to be seen if that is canon, as it is reported the role in Spider-Man: Far From Home is a lead. Another possible guess could be Zendaya’s (Michelle) father.
J.B. Smoove joins Jake Gyllenhaal who is said to be playing the villain of the film with Mysterio; Samuel L. Jackson also recently teased a possible role.
Plot details for Spider-Man: Far From Home include that it will be grander in scale, funnier, and it takes Peter around the world.
Spider-Man: Far from Home has a July 5, 2019 release also possibly starring Michael Keaton as Vulture.
