Henry Cavill Fans Reject 'The Witcher: Blood Origin'

It’s not looking good for Netflix’s The Witcher franchise as the Henry Cavill fans aren’t happy the Superman actor is no longer a part of the series, so apparently, they are rejecting the new Blood Origin series starring Michelle Yeoh.

Netflix released the trailer on Thursday (watch below) which has over 168k views, but while it has 10k likes on YouTube, the trailer has also been disliked 8.5k times.

Update: The trailer has now been disliked 146k times and the new trailer released at the CCXP is getting massively disliked.

While YouTube has disabled the dislikes feature, various Chrome extensions can reenable the feature.

Henry Cavill not happy with The Witcher

The amount of dislikes follows Henry Cavill exiting the series for a return to Superman.

However, it has also come out that Henry wasn’t happy with the direction Lauren Schmidt Hissrich was taking the series, which was away from the source material and the books.

A writer on the show even confirmed the other writers mocked the fans and the source material and aren’t even fans themselves.

Well, now Henry Cavill is gone and Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth will play Geralt in Season 4, which some fans think could be the last.

“My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4,” said Cavill in a statement when the announcement was made to leave the series. “In my stead, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf.”

Cavill continued, “As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men. Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find.”

Fans have also pointed out that in previous interviews, Henry Cavill has said he could do both a new Superman movie and The Witcher series, so apparently, Cavill’s departing is all about creative differences.
