He-Man returns in He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction, and now the game finally has a release date.
The new trailer confirms the retro brawler launches digitally on April 28, 2026, which also marks MOTU Day. Watch below.
The game releases on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Story Details Revealed
The trailer outlines the main plot. As Eternia prepares for the Royal Festival of Light, Hover Bots attack the palace. Skeletor and his allies kidnap King Randor and Queen Marlena and steal the Dragon Pearl.
At Castle Grayskull, Skeletor drains the Sorceress’ power into the Pearl. The artifact shatters across Eternia, leaving the Sorceress weakened. He-Man, Teela, and Man-at-Arms set out across the kingdom to stop Skeletor and restore order.
The developers describe the story as an authentic 16-bit tale of sword and sorcery, built as a tribute to four decades of Masters of the Universe.

Arcade Combat Across Eternia
Dragon Pearl of Destruction keeps the focus on classic side-scrolling action. Players battle through 12 stages inspired by familiar Eternian locations. Combat centers on melee attacks, magic abilities, and character-specific specials.
The game features large pixel-art sprites and detailed environments. Massive boss fights anchor each chapter, with Skeletor’s army standing in the way at every turn.
Two-player co-op returns, letting fans team up locally to take on the campaign together.

A 40-Year Tribute to He-Man
Bitmap Bureau develops the game, with Limited Run Games publishing. The studio leans into a 16-bit presentation designed to reflect the era when He-Man dominated cartoons, comics, and toy shelves.
With a confirmed April 28, 2026 release date, Dragon Pearl of Destruction now locks in a clear target for Masters of the Universe fans looking for a retro action experience built around He-Man and Eternia.
